1.3 na? applicable din kaya for A3(sorry blocked kasi yun toshiba's site dito sa office).

Tho my unit is still running 1.0 FW and I still have to burned the ISO for 1.1 FW.

Yes this new firmware is also intented for the A3, for my A3 is using 1.1 right now. I have no reason to update to 1.3 yet since wala naman akong problema sa 1.1 so far.

Thanks! the update is for A3 din pala, I just read from AVSForum that ISO is not yet available for download, 1.3 is available via ethernet connection pa lang(I prefer updating the FW via ISO, I don't trust my DSL connection at home baka mabrick lang A3 ko :)).

I just updated my A3 and it works like a charm, loading is a little bit faster than the 1.1 version. The upconversion of this is good considering its only at 1080I  :)

Nice :) I'm still running on original firmware and will wait for the availability of 1.3 ISO.

I ordered the A3 and availed of the 10 free HD-DVDs promo!

2 free hd-dvds (will come packed with player) = 300 and Bourne Identity
3 free hd-dvds (from amazon) = i picked Happy Feet, Departed and Hot Fuzz

Additionally, I ordered Transformers HD DVD!

Tonight, I got an email saying that my order has shipped. Now, if i could just figure out when the balikbayan box will get here. heheh

I'm now tempted to get any of the 3rd gen Toshiba HD players with ten free HD-DVD's.

I wanted to get Toshiba HD-A35 1080p HD DVD Player which comes with 2 free inside and pick 3 more for only for only $406.18 and a savings for around $70 for the 3 more free HD DVD's.  But I'm not expecting the other five free mail-in promo which I don't know where to ship in aside from JAC-NY.

I also voted at Amazon Customers Vote and in case I were randomly selected to get a deal on the product I voted which is Toshiba HD-A35 1080p HD DVD Player.  I will get it at only $149.

My questions are:
1. If I were luckily picked for $149.  Will the Toshiba HD-A35 still have the 2 free inside?
2. Will I still get the 3 free?
3. Can I still avail of the mail in promo which I think I can but I'm not sure. ;D
4. Can I use JAC-NY as my address to avail the mail-in promo?
5. What will you do?  Wait for the $149 chance or but it now at $406.18?

Example A
$406.18 promo contains:
Toshiba HD-A35 1080p HD DVD Player
Top Gun - $18.95
Face Off - $24.95
Shooter - $26.95
300 - $27.95
Bourne Identity - $19.95

Example B
267.75
Toshiba HD-A35 1080p HD DVD Player - $149
Top Gun - $18.95
Face Off - $24.95
Shooter - $26.95
300 - $27.95
Bourne Identity - $19.95

As you can see.  Even though at $149 and w/o the freebies.   I still save a lot if I still get the titles.  But its a better deal if I get the 5 free or 2 free at $149.  Crossing my fingers.  I wish I'll get selected.  and if I wasn't I wish the promo for 10 free will still be on.

What will you do guys?  It's giving me a headache.
Or will I just forget this and wait for a better future deal?

Hi James, here's my take: :)

1. The 2 free discs are bundled together with the player. The Bourne Identity and a non-combo 300.
2. You should qualify for the 3 free HD DVDs regardless of the price promo (while supplies last).
3. Yup, you're still entitle to the 5 Free HD DVDs mail-in/online rebate.
4. Shud be no problem as you can claim your rebate tru Amazon online. Pls see link for details:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=dp_reb_online?ie=UTF8&docId=592317
5. Wait for the $149 chance! If you were luckily picked for $149....buy immediately!!!!  :D
6. Bro, let me know if you pass the chance to buy at $149....I'd like to request your help to order for me! hehe ;)

Hope I've cleared your headache na. At $149 it's a great deal! ;D

Paul, Im also intrigued by the a-35.  I like the fact that it can do high-bit audio.   But when I am weighing things, I feel I dont need it now.      Maybe when I can pair it up with a capable AVR, thats when Ill jump.  And hoping prices will go down then...  ;D ;D

Yup Marvin, since you already own a standalone HD DVD player & also able to enjoy TrueHD audio from tru analog connection so there's no rush naman unless you're planning to upgrade your AVR or SA player. :)

*Getting the chance to buy A35 at $149 (usual price at $414) deep discount price is a different story... ;D

Hi baby,

Someone told me before, if you wan't to do something, do it now.  :D Prolonging the agony is not worh it  ;D

When I got mine (A30) last October, I was fully aware that there's no other way for the price to go, but down. However, I had the funds then, my sis-in-law was willing to bring it over here... and I can't wait any longer  ;D.

What's the probability of being (randomly) selected to get it for $149? Well, I know you're fully aware of the Law of Chances, that's your work right?  ;D

But if were you, just wait for the "raffle". After that day, buy your A35, either at regular (not selected) or at $149 (selected). And if you can, while waiting for the d-day, do something else that will not give you headache. Forget about it for the meantime.  ;D

Cheers!!!

Not sure about that Ray but based on the notice on the vote page it only says:

"Come back here *Day/Date*, between 12:01 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. PT. to see if you get offered this deal."

Guess to be safe, we have to check back the page on the specified Day/Date/Time.  :)

We'll get an email & you can also check at the "Amazon Customers Vote" ad. I voted for the Nintendo Wii at $79 & it won, hope I'll be offered the deal  :). I voted also for the Toshiba A35 & currently it has the highest vote.
