Ofcourse.  Disney won't give out everything on the first release, will they?.  Expect a special 2-disc edition later.

I'll go for the blu-ray... if there'll be a double dip, whether standard dvd or not, then I'll still get one.

I'm afraid so.  Lifted will be in the Pixar Shorts Collection DVD instead.  Argh!  Didn't plan on buying that one..

I think we should start expecting near-barebones standard DVDs from Pixar.  Even the Ratatouille podcasts are missing.  All the good stuff will be on Blu-ray.  Argh again!

Wassup with that?  First there was the single disc which started with Cars.  Now, all the good stuff are being stripped off and placed on bluray.  Why not come out with a 2-disc version with the special features found on bluray placed on the 2nd disc?  Or will we see a re-released 2-disc version in the near future?

Here's the LINK to the official press release for the Ratatouille DVD and Blu-ray disc.  A bit of good news - "Lifted" will be included in the bonus features, and the short "Your Friend The Rat" continues Pixar's tradition of including a new short involving characters from the movie in the DVDs.  It also says "More surprises" - but I wouldn't get my hopes up about that.

that's the r2 release.  and if you scan the specs, most of the featurettes are on the r1 release excluding the blue ray exclusives.
