1408 (2-Disc CE) -- October 2nd

Genius Products and The Weinstein Company will release "1408" on October 2nd. The supernatural thriller, adapted from a short story by Stephen King and starring John Cusack, will be available in an exclusive unrated cut in anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1. We don't have full details on extras yet, but expect deleted scenes, an alternate ending, a featurette or two and more. We'll let you know more soon. Retail will be $29.99.

As a Cusack fan, I'll be getting this one, though I haven't seen the movie yet... any HD counterpart?

October 2nd will be a very costly day for DVD addicts, with this coming out at the same day as The Jungle Book (Platinum Edition), Caligula (Imperial Edition) and Bram Stoker's Dracula (Collector's Edition).

Its taking forever to show this film here in the Philippines. But based on the reviews, i just might skip the local theatrical release and get the R1 dvd instead.
