There are a few more DVD na hindi pa nilalabas even if the VCD is already available and whose poster seem to indicate a DVD is forthcoming...  like Sunshine.

Yup. Almost all Php 550 Viva releases are DVD9's. I'm just not sure with Little Miss Sunshine, because the R1 is a dual-sided (WS & FS), single layer disc.

i was tempted to purchase the pathfinder since the r1 cost double...

the packaging sucks and most of the dvds are not intact with the dvd case (loose) may it be with video city, odyssey and astro.

the quality of the dvd case is also sub par compared to sunshine which i think was released at the same time.

it also does'nt indicate if it's dvd 5 or dvd 9.

The case is just similar to Sunshine except that's it's black instead of transparent.  Still, one of the worst DVD case I'd seen (both the black and the transparent), looks cheap almost like pirated. 

Maybe mods can decouple this discussion into a new Pathfinder thread.  I skipped it seeing as how it had been panned across the board.   i will pick it up when it goes on sale, but not at 550.

no offense but that's very lowly of viva and they charged 550 php for it.

i compared it's dvd casing to the pirated casing of ps2 dvd games and it's the same.

what i did was swap the dvd case of pathfinder with an r1 dvd ( amaray ) casing para magmukang may value.

with this experience as a consumer i'll be thinking twice the next time around they release a title that i like.

i wonder what viva will come out next with? dvd recorded from vcd (like avengers) with a casing that sucks (like path finder) ?

Even the POTC2 single disc dvd has the same ugly case. Some pirated cases are better than what Viva is releasing their new titles with.

I believe you heard wrong. As far as I know, Viva's 20th Century Fox and Disney titles (priced at 550) are still imported. The discs are, at least. The packaging, however, is already local, hence the terrible keep cases we've been getting.

Viva's 375 titles are the local ones. I have not bought a single one of these which I would consider even passable. Not one. So caveat emptor.

Not true.  I have Meet The Robinsons and I just bought The Last King of Scotland, which was released locally this week.   Also I checked some recently bought 299 discs like Aliens and Little Mermaid, they are all DVD9 and seem to come from the same disc replicator that Viva had always used.    The Disney discs all have that familiar Walt Disney logo on the inner disc.

Are the "Finding Nemo, Monsters, Inc & The Incredibles" from Viva DVD9 already? How's the picture/sound quality?

Meet The Robinsons would be nice to have next year at 299. No rush.   

It seems the lousy packaging is here to stay.  Better get good empty amaray cases to replace those I will buy.  No point complaining about them.

Just bought Notes On A Scandal. This time, Viva used the old Amaray casing. I hope they permanently return to the old case from noe on.

The Last King of Scotland is also in clear Amaray, the same kind that Magnavision used for budget discs.  It still is better than the ones used for Pathfinder, Alien, Prada, Eragon, etc.
