Onkyo HT-S5300 is still not available. It is expected on June this year.

A receiver comprised of separate components is definitely better than a home-theater-in-a-box system.

Onkyo 3300 system may not perform better than Yamaha receiver + speaker set-up. However, if you are on the budget, Onkyo 3300 is a better choice than to go into component set-up. Afterall, RXV465 at P21900. is just the price of the receiver. You still have to spend another P20 to 30K+ for the speakers.

Nevertheless, Onkyo 3300 is considered a separate component system too. The whole system is a combination of a dedicated Onkyo receiver--a unit that is not "bundles" together with a DVD player + separate speakers.
