The LG 42PW350 support 1080p movie by downscaling the material into 720p. It works like pouring a pitcher of water (which we refer to 1080p) to a drinking glass (which we refer to 720p). The glass will hold water that the glass filled up but will spill out the excess. The downscaling process is somewhat similar to this analogy but with added interpolation of the video that scales down the video material into the right format resolution.

HD video refers to any video system of display resolutions of at least 720 horizontal lines. Since 42PW350 has 720 horizontal line, it will display high definition picture.

Comparing picture quality between 720 and 1080 panel, a viewer won't see significant difference between them at a meter away on a 42 to 50 inch TV. At bigger size over 50", you will see the difference but at 42" you won't.

Malaki ba difference between the 2 models for the 4K difference in price?

Both are HD Ready right, what about a Full HD 50 incher? Bang for the buck of course.

hi guys. I would like to recommend sony 40bx420. Surprisingly its plays some mkv files when its predecessor cannot, irrc. Watching anime is a blast. Be careful on which fansub group though. Some audio types are not supported, also video types since mkv is only a container.

The following TV are available:
Sony 32BX320 P23K Add P3,999. for a DAVTZ135 HTIB.
Samsung 32D550 P22500. Add P7K for a HTC350 HTIB
LG 32LE5500 P26500. FREE wall bracket. Add P10K for HT805PM HTIB...This TV still has backlight bleeding issue. We can replace the TV within 30 days. Since LG TV new model are arriving, To avoid issue of backlight bleeeding, I suggest you wait for the new released models.
Toshiba 32RV700 at P22500. Add P7K for a AV Link HTIB.

Among the choices above, the Toshiba presents the best picture quality--not as washed-out picture presentation (when watch TV at the side) as Sony, not as too bright picture as Samsung, and definitely no backlight bleeding issue as LG.

All the above TVs play mkv movies thru usb.

Panasonic still has slightly richer color and clarity than the other TVs.
