The new plasma now has no issue of burn-in nor of serious problem of image retention. You are not required to run any break-in procedure for your TV.

thanks for the confirmation but why is it still stated on the user's manual p.5 "important safety instructions"
"if a fixed image displays on the tv screen for a long period of time, it will be imprinted and become permanent disfigurement on the screen. This is image burn or burn -in. Avoid displaying a fixed image on the tv screen for a long period of time 1 or more hours for plasma tv to prevent image burn. Avoid setting 4:3 aspect ratio since image burn may occur on the letterboxed area of the screen.

The clause of precaution will always be there. It's a statement to immune the company from being sued when TV happened to break down under normal use. It's like the pamphlet comes with the medicine you purchased, the contraindication warning is to immune the drug company from being sued when the patient experiences side effects after taking the medicine.
