Earlier this evening brader Stark3 came over the house to audition the Dared MP5 I was selling. In the middle of the audition, I connected Anthony's proac clone - the original gen1 flavor. Since brader stark3 was starting out in the hobby - I thought he should start listening to various speaker brands since there was an opportunity naman dito sa bahay.

Within a few seconds of hearing computer music, parang gusto ko magbago ng isip na ibenta yung Dared MP5 as the combination of both was astounding :o Nagdalawang isip talaga ako dun :P ang bangis ng combination talaga!

.....at the end of the audition, both the Dared MP5 and Proac clones were taken! ;D

Brader anthony - wala na ako A-audio speakers dito sa bahay - lagi nalang silang itinatangay kung pinaparinig ko :P Pa-deliver ulit ako pls ;D

Teka....this time, I like the Proac D2 naman ;)

hindi ko ini-screw, i use those 3m double tape na natatanggal din without damaging the finish. oks naman, sturdy. i first tried blu tack, pero medyo unstable, the double tape was a great fit.  :)

kayong may mga gen1 na clones - better hold on to them kasi mukang collectors item na sila eh ;D Up to now hinahanap pa ;)

The Proac D2 probably would have more body due to its 6.5" midrange/woofer and of course a bit more of bass than the orig clones.
Sabi ni anthony, yung weight palang ng 6.5" driver is already as heavy as the gen1 clone speaker itself - heavyweight ata ah  ;D

same here, as per tamy's advice. ;D  i was fortunate enough to nab the gen2 velodyne set. (big center, floorstanders and 4 bookshelves) ;D  currently have the floorstanders and center in use.  the bookshelves will be installed this week as soon as paint dries for my DIY perfectview speaker bracket clones. (syempre clones din dapat di ba? :D)

the floorstanders and center are wonderful, great high's and mids, ample bass.  especially considering they are less than a month old.  i sincerely have never enjoyed music and movies sonically as much as i have since i got them.  Can't wait to bi-wire these babies heehee...

9.9 out of 10 for this set.  only reason that they didn't get a perfect score is muntikan nakong maospital carrying the floorstanders and center up to my room on the 2nd floor as well as when i installed the spikes.  ang hirap isakto sa spike shoes sa bigat hehe...

PS.  this is a bit OT, but i have to say the spikes are a great upgrade. aesthetically, they are a great accent, and the improvement in terms of sound has to be heard to be believed.

enjoying profoundly sir. :D  the speakers are quite versatile if i may say so.  i consider my musical tastes to be eccentric and eclectic(triphop? jazz? progressive trance?  classical? RnB? viking metal? 90's alt rock? ;D) , and have yet to encounter a genre that did not translate well using these babies. ;D

ako pag dating sa prog rock music ko, bitin ako sa bass (bass drum),i love hearing that double peds and off beat tiempo kaya i turn on the sub pag ganyan ang tugtog. Ang problema, ang hirap mag timpla ng bass to match the fronts.

i have to concede that the woofers are more on the detail than the oomph... been trying to find the sweetspot of the sub-fronts overlap as well...  although i guess you would need a very tight sub for this...

Yup tight sub is the solution.....normally you will find subs for audio to be sealed (no port) to gain absolute control of the sub driver.  The sub must be quick/fast in order to keep in pace with the bookshelves.  Locally, an available sub for Audio that I have come accross is the ERA sub being carried by Audio Amplified.  I have the VRS1 by Von Schweikert but this has been discontinued. The sealed subs are easier to tune than the HT subs.  Another option is to go diy.

Sir Mardon,

Thanks for pointing me to the right direction. I think the D2 clone I got was the one for you. I'm sure Anthony can make you one more. DNk and I were just planning to just audition them but I ended up getting a whole HT set. Ha ha.

Hahahahaha - dont worry about it brader Arnie ;D Yup, anthony can always whip one up in a flash naman ;)
Ganyan talaga yang mga speakers ni Anthony and auditioning them just serves as a formality.....folks typically dont pass 'em up & get it right there :D ;D

Congrats in the new acquisition and do give us your impressions on those speakers once you get a chance ;)

Update:

Last night, I brought a friend to Anthony's lair as he was buying a complete HT speaker setup. We listened to Anthony's famous floorstander, his new medium sized center speaker & proac clones as rears. While my friend was overly enjoying the audition, I noticed a pair of floorstanders at the back that has grilles up to midway only, so I knew they werent his regular floorstanders.

I asked Anthony what those floorstanders are......and he just smiled. After my friend's audition, I again asked about those floorstanders and this time I wouldnt accept a smile ;D I finally convinced him to let me hear what those speakers are & after just a minute of listening to them - I knew right then that it was perhaps the BEST sounding "audio only" floorstanding speakers that he has ever built.

It was Anthony's version of the Proac Response 2.5 that housed a mylar tweeter and a 6.5" midwoofer - only 2 drivers. Absolutely, no subwoofer required! :o
I tried to buy it, but he wouldnt let me.......I tried to threaten him, harass him & even blackmail him to sell it to me but to no avail :D ;D

Anthony - i will be back brader and like it or not - those will be mine!! ;D

If any of you would have the opportunity of visiting Anthony's lair, do convince him in hearing MY Proac Response 2.5.  ;D He will start production on these by September, so if you guys can swing it - I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it! ;) Oh yes, they are cheaper than his regular floorstanders.
If you're looking for an audio floorstander speakers - this is the ticket!

How I wish I brought my dslr, so my apologies for the crappy phone cam pics:

These may be the future A-Audio speaker finishes which you can order - sorry talaga at phone cam lang :P
