sorry kagawad, negative ba ang dating? i should have put an emoticon too!
No worries brader - kalimutan na natin yun as we all have something to celebrate about.........
Review of the Genesis:The Genesis line is Anthony's smallest and cheapest pair of speakers to date - and even prior to my audition, anthony kept saying that the Genesis is at par with his previous Tritower FS speakers. Naturally, I chuckled and just told him "yeah, right" - a single 5" driver to compete with a multi-driver array of speakers? Mukang nahihibang na ata si DIY master natin ah
Well, last night - I ate those words!
The drum sequence track in the focal test disc made me search for a subwoofer that might have been turned on - there is absolutely no absence of bass, period!
If the Genesis were playing when you enter master anthony's lair - you would've thought that either the 15" coax or any of his floorstanders were playing - I kid you not!
Infact, according to anthony - there were numerous visitors who came into his lair while he was testing the Genesis and most thought that the 15"coax was playing.......only to be floored when anthony revealed that only the smallish speakers positioned at the back were playing!
The Genesis sounds huge, detailed and very lively - in biblical proportions if I may add!
Its the perfect all-around speakers that you could use for audio and even HT!
I would even recommend you buy 5pcs of the Genesis for merely 7k and with the money you save - go and buy yourself a SVS subwoofer 'coz you deserve it!
Perfect for condos, your computer, gaming, primary/secondary audio or HT and everything in between - hindi lang pam-pamilya, pang -isports pa!
.......and finally, how much does a pair of Genesis costs?
Less than 3k!!!!!!!! Half the cost of your 1sc clone?
Please, please and pretty please......audition these babies!
Review of the ExodusThe Exodus wasnt as "biblical" as the Genesis were - it was a smooth performer, but I find it a bit bright for my taste - which was probably due to it having 2 tweeters. Of course, its subjective so opinions will certainly vary from one person to the other.
I also found it to lack bass which was totally different from what the Genesis dishes out - a bit underwhelmed as it certainly had a bigger enclosure than the Genesis.
The Exodus has a "calmer" ambiance compared to the Genesis and for those who are more inclined with a bit brighter sound might find the Exodus better for their taste. It does present a much open midrange (partly due to the 2 teeters) compared to the Genesis.
The Exodus costs 4k a pair and also would be perfect for those looking at spending 10k for 5pcs for their HT
I also got to pre-audition the
Amos FS speaker, but suggested anthony to further tweak its crossover and/or driver as it sounded thin (manipis).
Last I heard from anthony he is already tweaking both the Exodus and Amos - so here's hoping to hear more speaker goodies from the DIY master soon
