Haba nga, inantok na rin ako. Aga ko pang kailangang gumising.  ;D

But while the match itself was full of drama and excitement, I found the points themselves a little boring. Short points, unforced errors, few "wow" moments. Unless I'm just comparing this to last year and it's falling short.

The 4 set points in the second is probably still haunting Roddick. Sayang talaga.

The Times put it well - Roddick played better, but Federer is better at winning championships. "He used the brilliantly simple tactic of Not Losing."

Good touch to have Pete there.

I was also up all-night watching this match. Medyo boring nga kasi sagutan lang sila sa service. I really thought Roddick will win. Buti na lang hindi. ;D Hats off to Roger! Ganda nung jacket nya sa post-game conference. :)

The final games of the 5th set turned out to be mostly a battle of serves with both players visible tired and slower.  The amazing thing is, Federer outserved (in terms of aces) a very strong server.

Federer played so smooth and relaxed that you'd sometimes feel he was losing his concentration. I dont think Roddick played better than Roger overall.  Yes he had some strange unforced errors and he broke Roddick's serve only once (and finally won it all), but Federer put a whole lot more pressure on Roddick's service games than the other way around, while he loved Roddick a lot more on his own serves.  The only time I felt Roddick really had a chance of beating him was during the survival period of the final set .  For a while there, I thought Federer had run out of gas, then delivered another ace.

But hats off really to Roddick.  I didnt expect him to put that much challenge based on their previous matches.   It was a pain looking at his distraught face after the game and he would probably have nightmares on the 2nd set tie-break lost after reaching set-point at 6-2.

Roddick played brilliantly, but Federer held it all together in the end,...
an epic battle of will power and sheer strength...

Hats off to both players...

The cameraman was toggling between Mrs. Federer and Mrs. Roddick quite often during the entire match, and in some instances, it appeared na manganganak sa nerbyos si Mrs. Federer.  Anyways, I think Mrs. Federer has got the better looking face but she's no match to the body of Mrs. Roddick.  There's something strange about the nose of Mrs. Roddick - it kinda look like that of Roger...hehehe..  Well, kanya kanya lang taste yan.   ;D

Ang hot babe ay yung katabi ni Michael Ballack...and that very very old classy lady wearing hat who looked liked an actress of some sort.   Lumaki na yung braso ng wife ni Pete Sampras.   ;D

Before we leave Federer vs Roddick ... I stumbled upon this video of what has been called "Federer's Greatest Shot." It was in an earlier match against Roddick. Here's the link...

Federer's Best Shot Ever

I could not have imagined that kind of shot, and Fed's had quite a few of those unimaginable ones.

I think Roddick was given a warning for the racket throwing on the opponents side even though it was done with good intentions.

Federer is again on his way to another grand slam win at the US Open. Well, there's nothing new about that. But this miracle shot he made against Djokovic during their semifinal match will be one for the books:

It would certainly be a great feat for Federer,
but I was more excited with the comebacking KIM CLIJSTERS,
she played brilliantly, and ended up with the championship..!

How I wish Justine Henin would make a comeback as well,...
I miss her backhand...

Caroline Wozniacki, the runner up, seems to be the new barbie of the tennis world. We definitely want to see a lot of her in the next grand slam tournaments.  ;)

It was a great match...!

I was expecting Federer to eat del Potro alive with his groundstrokes, I was mistaken...
'twas a perfect match from the beginning...

Great game...

I was never a fan of Roger... I'm always rooting for his opponent especially if it's a final match... The thing he did (talking with the umpire like that) made me wondered (and excited) if he'll also gonna crack like Serena on her match with Kim Clijsters ( ;D ;D ;D yipee!!! Kim won!!!)...

Well, Roger rarely gets upset on court, but this one will cost him, not that it would make him cringe...

Glad to see that Kim won that one, the Williams sisters has been bulldozing their way in grand slam events.

Well, its going to be one hell of a season for the WTA kapag bumalik si Henin,
Henin may know the game of Kim Clijsters, but she has not been that successful with
the Williams sisters, it may be the height factor, but in the end of it all,
I'm very pleased to see them back on court again, The Williams has been very dominant
in every Grand Slam, now its a whole new ballgame..!

Cheers...

Whats with these athletes "retiring" and then coming back??! Papansin lang when they say theyll retire tapos babalik din pala. Sana may rules ang major sports orgs that when you retire theres no more coming back ;D :D. Or if you want to come back you must give back half of your earnings to 3rd world countries ;) That way they would think twice before scheduling a presscon of their "retirement".

Kawawa naman si Clijsters, i hope this time matalo nya na si Henin sa Finals of a grand slam tourney.
