Vamos Rafa!  Go for the Grand Slam!

I hope that Federer can recover his top form, and he and Nadal can continue their rivalry for at least 5 years.

It goes both ways.  Actually, sa head to head match up nila in all grand slam finals, Rafa is ahead of Roger.

I was cheering for Berdych as he was the underdog.
But Rafa bullied his way and practically kept Berdych on the defensive.
Arguably with the best forehand and now armed with a wicked serve, Nadal may just keep that no.1 rank if he stay healthy all year.

Terrific match between Nadal and Djokovic. There's no denying Rafa his Grand Slam though. Records might still point to Roger as the greatest ever, but i think Rafa is the greatest competitor.

Rafa is only 24 yrs old and already completed a career grand slam.  He won his 3rd straight major title (French, Wimbledon, US) title this year, a record Rod Laver accomplished in 1969 winning all the 4 major tournaments in the same year.

The question on who's the greatest will always be debatable  ;D

Ana Ivanovic has just won two straight tournaments, which makes women's tennis a bit more watchable. Looks like she was enjoying some Bali beach time too.

Anyone still following tennis?

Rafa just won Barcelona for the 6th straight time, two weeks after winning Monte Carlo for the 7th straight time. He is the only player in history to have won 2 tournaments 6 or more consecutive times. Remember that Rome and Roland Garros are coming up. He's won those 5 times.

To add to his records (courtesy of tennis.com):

- Nadal has won his 11th 500 Series title and is in 2nd place in the all time list, only one title behind Sampras who leads with 12 titles.

- Nadal is, by far, the best clay court player in history with a ible 93% winning percentage. Since 2005, Nadal has only lost 6 matches, and he is 186-6, which is equal to a 97% winning percentage. Nadal has won and outstanding 31 of 48 clay tournaments he has ever played for a 65% winning percentage.

- Nadal passed Borg with 31 career clay court titles for 3rd place in the all time list. Next ahead in the list is Muster with 40. Nonetheless, Muster’s wins are of a much lesser quality, as 26 of his titles are 250 Series level. Contrast that with Nadal who has only five 250 Series and 40 of a higher level.

- Nadal is also the best outdoor player in history with an 85.2% winning percentage.

- With his 44rd outdoor tournament win, Nadal has also surpassed Muster for 5th place in the all time outdoor win list. Next up is Agassi with 48 wins.

- Nadal has the all time best winning percentage at 400 wins (400-91 for an 81.5%) and 500 wins (500-105 for an 82.6%).

- Nadal is only 0.03% percentage points behind Borg for 1st in the overall career winning percentage record.

I am a Rafael Nadal fan. I read about tennis as much as I can.

I used to play a lot of tennis before but no longer do.

Still active playing tennis,
but has to lay low for a while, it is just TOO DAMN HOT here in Cabanatuan,
temperature is at a sizzling 36 to 38 outside, not too healthy to stay out on the sun during this time...

Never been a fan of Rafael Nadal, I still prefer the gracefulness of Roger Federer,
but somehow, the intensity of Nadal always gets the best of Federer,
and I really do believe that most of the players now has the number of Federer...

Cheers...

Is Novak on steroids or what? ;D ;D ;D
He just bested Nadal in the finals of two consecutive clay tournaments for his 37th straight win.

Can't wait for the French Open to start. Buti na lang televised sa Balls TV.

Nadal showed how Federer can be defeated, by using power and speed coupled with intensity. Now, the other players use the same tactics against Federer with varying success. Federer needs to be more consistent in finishing off his opponents. He tends to ease up against opponents when ahead.

"How did Novak Djokovic conquer the tennis world?

Maybe the answer is as simple as this: Since last year, he's swearing off pasta, pizza, beer, French bread, Corn Flakes, pretzels, empanadas, Mallomars and Twizzlers—anything with gluten."

French Open starts tomorrow. Rafa tries to play the underdog and states that Novak is the favorite this year!

If the results follow the seedings up to the semi-finals, then Federer will have to beat Djokovic in the semi-finals and the winner of the Nadal-Murray other semi-final, to win his second French Open.
