HUGE downgrade but oh well


This thread reminded me of my problems with my surround speakers in my previous home. Now its much better

pdvd journey since 2007

Eto po ang aking munting all-around bedroom. D2 ako natutulog, nagcocomputer, nanonood ng movies etc. Medyo limited ang options ko because of the limited space and the giant table. Yung speaker na may stand linagay ko nlng sa likod sa tabi ng bed

Then upgraded to Pana 42pv70


Recycled our old sony HTIB kaya lang may nagloloose either sa subs or sa amp

My sony sub died.. good thing I have a genius solution.

Bought the genius 5.1 years ago around 1.5k I think. And surprise surprise it has a powered subwoofer hehe

Yeah. internal yung nagloloose eh. Kasi kahit nde ko ginagalaw minsan may lumalabas na sounds sa sub. Wala akong mapaglagyan ng amp dahil yung printer ginagamit ng kapatid ko kaya sa sahig muna sya.

Kapag natuloy ako mag-us sa nov sana sale yung onkyo 7.1 hehe 430$ ata ngayon. Yung 5.1 nya olats yung review, mahina daw subs

Question lang, oks lang ba na malapit sa aircon yung amp?

giant jump from a standard CRT (looks like hinda pa flat) to a 42"Plasma!  Great upgrade sir!

Kahit malapit basta hindi directly tinatamaan ng malamig hangin. Kasi amp needs to heat also while it's on. Maximized ang power nito pagmainit na. If you will notice habang umiinit lalaong lumalakas ang at pumipino ang tunog. ....  If you can place it somwhere mas maganda...

Ililipat ko din yung amp soon after nya marepair at after malipat yung printer sa ibang room.

regarding dun sa converter, yun yung gamit ko sa old TV, hangang ch 30 lng kasi yun haha ganun na sya katanda. Hindi rin sya flat. Sa weekend itatry ko na idirect sa tv para macompare kung masOk yng PQ

Next na target ko yung Onkyo htib na 7.1. Sana matuloy ako sa nov at machempo na may sale hehe

Regarding sa cable tv converter vs direct, mas ok yung direct. Either pareho lng yng PQ or masOk pa ata yng direct. Plus hassle yung may extra remote

mga pdvd experts, tanong ko lang po kung worth it ba magupgrade ng speakers w/o changing my subs and amp. Cguro mga 15-20k budget.

Magkakaron ba ng significat diff?

You can do that, but keep in mind that later you will upgrade your amp. So, get the speakers that later will match to the amp in your wish list. For now, there's no significant difference with the existing power. Preamp/processor is the big factor in HT set-up, it's the brain, heart and soul of your system...

Wow, laki ng TV. Sarap manuod dyan.

Why not try to wall mount the TV so you'll have space to position your the speakers. Kaso major rearrangement ng room mo yan. I can't comment on the Klipsch RE-10 since I haven't had the experience to hear them. But the Velo does sound very good in movies and does ok in music.

Seems that side walls are not possible due to cabinets on one side... 
MHO, on that blank space above the light switch and space them equi-distance on the other side from your sitting area..

Thanks Chuck  Next year pa siguro yun. Speakers muna upgrade ko this month. Tapos subwoofer yng next sa wishlist ko. Sana by next yr bumaba pa price ng ps3 at bluray movies at sana may mga friends na ako na into bluray para hiraman ng movies nalang.
