He he he thanks.. It's my dream speaker setup... Mahal lang ng Synchrony S Surround kaya Image B6 na lang ginamit ko. Wala din makunan ng smaller Synchrony Two B bookshelf dito. Ganda sana for surrounds nun..

Three questions -

1. Would PSB speakers sound good with Marantz receivers?

2. Also, taking into account that the Marantz is more musical than say, an Onkyo or a Yamaha, if the intention is to put up a separate audio set up anyway, would it be better to get a more HT-geared receiver (like the aforementioned Onkyo and Yamaha)?

3. Would the PSB speakers sound good with either the Onkyo or Yamaha?

also curious with your number 1 question.

because someone is selling his psb+marantz combo in the marketplace. maybe that combo is not a good match (daw)?

but i have read from the threads that the following are good match:
     psb + nad integrated amp
     psb + yamaha AVR
     psb + denon AVR

I have a Yamaha RX-A2000 and i Paired it with PSB B6 and T6. Sounded really good for both Movies and Music. This is my combination until i upgraded my Speakers to PSB Synchrony

Nope.. I have a NAD 275 Amp and NAD 165 Pre-amp for my Audio setup.. My HT is Yamaha and PSB T6, B6 and C60... but now i upgraded my HT to SYnchrony setup. Im using now same speakers for Audio and HT. I just move cables if i watching movie or listening to music. I do have a Marantz but it's a Network Audio Player.

Marantz and Onkyo are more musical. Yamaha at least the regular ones are more on HT.

i thought Marantz and Harman Kardon are musical, while Onkyo and Yamaha is geared towards HT side.

What's musical and what's not are subjective in nature, so no right and wrong answers there  ;)

Now what gives a more linear and flat response is a different issue, now those can be measured, but by no means a gauge of whats better or worse, because the "flavor" that one prefers is in itself subjective.

I personally prefer a tone that is near neutral, with strong emphasis on the mid range and with slightly rolled off highs (to some, this is slightly warm), which is the reason why I have tubes for my stereo, wherein tube rolling is an option to cater to my tastes.

For ht, I prefer a neutral if not flat response curve, which for some might appear a little "bright" when playing movies (movies were recorded that way), which is the reason why I use Audyssey's FLAT eq, my room though is treated, which of course affects the sound - for better or for worse.

In my personal and subjective taste, both flavors are musical to me.

Cheers :)

quickie lang:

xavian altea vs psb x2t = cleaner highs and mids for altea, more pronounced lows for x2t.  altea transparent and better imaging; x2t warm and better balance of high, mid and low.

which one is better?  depends on the preference of the listener and also depends on the amp that you have.

;D

sir
I have a yamaha and a marantz amp and an image b6. yun b6 bagay sa yamaha ko. pag sa marantz, a bit too warm for my taste. pero ok pa rin naman

ang ka partner ng marantz ko is an aaudio D1 (which i consider brighter than b6) sa small ht room namin which doubles as my office.
sa sala yung yamaha-b6  for pure music listening lang. mas sensitive din kasi b6 so yun nilagay ko sa open room. imho match ang yamaha-b6

hi guido! I appreciate the input from a marantz owner. What kind of marantz amp do you have - is it one for HT talaga, meaning not an integrated stereo amp?

thanks for sharing us this video.

with the advent of new technology and the arrival of new digital sources, speakers still evolve as time goes by to cope with the new sound dynamics unknown in the past.thats why PSB creator Paul Burton deems it necessary to create this new PSB speakers.

to sum it up, the 1 hour video explains the newly released Imagine T3-with the 5-driver array,it was declared that this is the new flagship of PSB.

but how i wish i can afford that with the price of $3,750. hehe. siguro pagdating d2 sa pinas, abutin pa yan ng 180k pesos. :)
