PSB speakers have consistently been cited as having great "value for money" speakers.

I have a pair of PSB Stratus Goldi speakers which I purchased in 1999. Excellent speakers for both HT and Audio but you need a very powerful amp to drive them properly. I have no experience with other PSB models.

I am actually interested in their new Synchrony series but I don't think these are available locally yet. Baka November pa raw.

I understand there is a new distributor for PSB locally. Kayo ba yun?

Just sharing,

I have PSB Alpha Mini's. Quite old models ;D  I use them now for rear speakers.  I used to enjoy them as bookshelf speakers.  Pretty good for music and HT purposes.  I still really enjoy them, as they have kept me from getting replacements.

Cheers!

Check this psb owner's thread:

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=657301

No offense but that thread is kinda dead - just like this thread so far. Hardly anyone posts there and no one seems to have any experience with latest PSB speaker series - Synchrony.

Upscale Audio used to carry them, there was also a shop in megamall (top floor) that used to carry them.

NEWS LETTER:.

PSB B1
Stereophile Product of the Year

Each December since 1992 the editorial team at Stereophile celebrate music and the audio components that bring music home to our hearts and soul. PSB's Alpha B1 was voted "2007 Budget Product of the Year." Here is what Stereophile's Stephen Mejias had to say:
Deep down inside, the “Budget Product of the Year” category strikes a special chord with us all—perhaps because it reminds us of our hi-fi beginnings, perhaps because it has a way of rekindling our enthusiasm. For newcomers to the hi-fi hobby, our category of “Budget Product of the Year” is reserved for components that are absolutely, honest to god, without a doubt, affordable. Meanwhile, for more experienced audiophiles, it is refreshing and exciting to rediscover how much musical pleasure can be achieved for so very little money.
Again, we had a large class of impressive candidates, with seven earning first-place votes—but it was the wonderful little PSB Alpha B1 that won our hearts. The B1 comes from a long line of overachieving loudspeakers; the original Alpha was a runner-up in our very first “Products of the Year” gala, in 1992. Back then it sold for a modest $199/pair. Fifteen years later, the B1’s price has risen by a mere $80, making it actually less expensive in real terms than the original Alpha. Now, that is just crazy. More important, it is proof positive that true hi-fi sound can be brought into nearly any home.

Though the Alpha B1 makes compromises in loudness capability and low-frequency extension, its glorious midrange and solid stereo imaging bring a wide range of musical performances—even large-scale orchestral works—into rich, vibrant focus. JA was very pleased, noting “superb measured performance” and marveling at the PSB’s ability to stand proud in a system costing more than 200 times its price. He advised audiophiles to buy pairs for friends and family. I took his advice, sort of—I bought a pair for myself.
________________________________________
“A simply sensational audio bargain.”
________________________________________

The PSB Alpha B1 is exactly the kind of product this hobby needs—one that brings the High End down to earth, makes hi-fi attainable for just about everyone, and, beyond all, reminds us how much fun this hobby should be. The Alpha B1 has become my immediate recommendation for anyone seeking hi-fi advice. I’m proud to have a pair in my home. A simply sensational audio bargain. Thank you, Paul Barton.

________________________________________

Note: PSB's Alpha B1 at $279/pair is also a "2007 Loudspeaker of the Year Award" runner up. This category is dominated by cost-no-object high performance loudspeakers up to $74,995/pair.

PSB Alpha B1 Loudspeaker
The Absolute Sound's 2007 Golden Ear Awards
By: Neil Gader

It's hard to figure why the PSB Alpha B1 sounds as good as it does. Outwardly, it looks like any number of prosaic, under $300 econoboxes. There's one crucial difference, however. In two words, "Paul Barton." It's Barton, the eponymous founder and chief engineer behind this Canadian company, who drives his team to infuse PSB speakers with unerring musicality and tonal accuracy. Derived from a long line of critically reviewed Alphas, the newest B1 has been honed, refined, recontoured, and fussed over by Barton in a way that only a fellow stickler could understand. Barely twelve inches tall, this little blaster grabs hold of a signal with the determination of a pit bull and gives it a sling-shot ride that says "bite me" to the competition.

"The Alpha B1 has been fussed over by Barton in a way that only a fellow stickler could understand."

Clobber it with dynamically charged orchestral material or groove-driven hip-hop, and the B1 yawns. Sure, it's not perfection--- there's a bit of a presence slump near the crossover point, the tweeter is not the last word in silken refinement, and the soundstage is a bit amorphous. But all told, the proof in this pudding was the simple fact that I couldn't turn 'em off! That's what a great speaker should do. At $279 the pair, there is now no excuse for anyone to feel excluded fron the high-end. Price: $279. psbloudspeakers.com (reviewed in Issue 170)

Nope.

Sights & Sounds has the last pair of PSB B25.

It is the recommended speaker for 2007 of Stereophile magazine at its price range.

PSB IMAGE B25 loudspeaker: $479/pair
Stereophile 500 Recommended Components
Special Issue

The Image B25 is a two-way, reflex-loaded, magnetically shielded loudspeaker using a ferrofluid-colled 1" aluminum-dome tweeter and a 6.5" metalized polypropylene-cone woofer. Setting "a new benchmark at the $450 price point" the B25 combined a midrange that was " dead neutral, liquid and holographic" with "an extraordinary level of detail resolution, perfectly articulate transients, and a broad continuous, organis presentation of the entire dynamic spectrum" . Its measured performance was indicative of its standard-setting sonic quality (Vol.27 No.12 WWW)

+1

Heard the same setup at spectra also. It blew me away with all that high frequncy detail, soundstage, punch and bass extension. I kinda regret getting a pair of monitor audio br2s over the psb image 25 but they were just too big for my desktop and the psbs didn't have the fat warm mid range and non-fatiguing sound (important for near-field) and looks of the MA BR2s. Oh well, guess you can't have it all.

heard the B25 yesterday at the Alabang Audio Fair. Very nice sound for music, good balance, terrific bass.  ;D Will include in my shortlist. Have to check it for HT though.

Will audition PSB Image B6 and Polk RTiA3 this week. Any feedbacks from the B6 or B5? Planning to buy the fronts first. Will be using Onkyo 608.
