Pioneer 4280 is not full HD bro, HD capable lang, same with Panasonic PV70.
Panasonic PY700 is FULL HD.
So kung concern mo lang ay ang resolution then Panasonic PY700 ka na! ;)
Just my 2 cents lang po.

tama yun IF resolution lang pag uusapan. but i have read reviews that the pio kuro blows pana fullHD when it comes to contrast, color accuracy, color saturation, which are more important than resolution alone. the contrast ratio of pio 428 is 16,000:1... and most of us know that what makes a picture more lifelike more 3d like is the rendition of black levels, color accuracy and saturation. the fourth element would be resolution for the details.

but hey if resolution is the only issue, then the pana most probably would be the choice. ::)

Before I got the 428, my "finalists" were the Pio and the 42PY700.  I settled for the Kuro due to the following:

1. Price. Cheaper .
2. I saw the 42PY700 side by side with a 42PV700 in Singapore.  I thought the PV was better overall (but of course it could be that the PV was calibrated and the PY was not).
3. Internet reviews generally favor the Kuro over full HD models from other manufacturers.

I would have been happy with either but the surprisingly favorable price of the Kuro clinched it for me.

Good luck on your purchase.   :)

1. Price Cheaper - Hindi siguro, Panasonic 42PV70 and Pioneer PVP4280 has the same 1024X768 but Panasonic is cheaper (below 70K)  over Pioneer na 100K ang price tag. Panasonic 42PY700 is FULL HD kaya mas mahal.
3. Internet reviews generally favor the Kuro over full HD models from other manufacturers - Meron na bang Pioneer Kuro na FULL HD sa Pinas?

don't take my word ;D search the internet, google is your best friend. re pio kuro vs fullhd plasmas

What you said is correct, aside from site reviews best way is yung actual review ng user/owner talaga.

1.  I was comparing the 428 to the 42PY700.  As you said, the latter is more expensive.

3.  Let me clarify, internet reviews generally rate the 1024x768 Kuro over the Full HD models by other manufacturers.

guys,

seriously considering this model (50PV70). What other plasma brand or model that I can compare it to considering the size (50") & price (around 105K)? My type of viewing...mostly TV shows (CNN, Discovery, NG etc.) and sometimes DVD movies. Not fond of video games....nakatandaan ko na siguro. Need inputs. Not updated anymore in HT scenario these days. Thanks.

Thanks Jeff. You got PM.

Was able to test the 50PV70 earlier at Listen Up Glorieta. Side by side comparison with 50" Pioneer (wasn't able to get the model) get's me confuse some more. I prefer the Pioneer PQ more but that would mean 60K more in my limited budget. Got to evaluate this project of mine some more.

Hi Nemesis,
I have asked my sister n bayaw to visit you this coming weekend. Nasa Singapore ako kaya I cannot join them.
Will be giving the 50PV70 as christmas gift sa parents namin. Sana mabigyan mo pasila ng discount.
I've have also told them about 42PV70 n I think you will be able to convince them to buy it together
with the 50PV70.
