Just based on the final punchline catchphrase, the version included in the Php 750 R3 Die Hard 4.0 Ultimate Action Edition is the THEATRICAL CUT, since Bruce Willis says "Yippee-Ki-Yay Mother-(GUNSHOT!)" and not "Yippee-Ki-Yay Mother-F**ker! (GUNSHOT!)"

Stupid Mother-F**kers!  >:(

 ;D

It's looking like the UK DVD version is the only true Unrated, Uncut edition... or a combination of both the US R1 and UK R2.

aaaww.....i'll get na lang R1 from amazon.  the uncut version is more of a priority for me than the lack of special features compared to other versions.

I suppose, just casually explain why. Most shops I've returned DVDs to have been very accommodating.

I'm annoyed I opened mine.  >:(

Only theatrical cut? Eh?! So, will there be a Die Hard 4.1 Mega-Super Ultimate Action Uncut R-18 Edition?   ::)

Man, they should get their tags right when naming them versions.

Ultimate

1.   last; furthest or farthest; ending a process or series: the ultimate point in a journey; the ultimate style in hats.
2.   maximum; decisive; conclusive: the ultimate authority; the ultimate weapon.
3.   highest; not subsidiary: ultimate goal in life.
4.   basic; fundamental; representing a limit beyond which further progress, as in investigation or analysis, is impossible: the ultimate particle; ultimate principles.
5.   final; total: the ultimate consequences; the ultimate cost of a project.
6.   not to be improved upon or surpassed; greatest; unsurpassed: the ultimate vacation spot; the ultimate stupidity.
–noun
7.   the final point; final result.
8.   a fundamental fact or principle.
9.   the best, greatest, or most extreme of its kind.

So does this mean even the Die Hard Quadrilogy set does not contain the Unrated version?

It's on the first page of this thread.  It contains only the Theatrical Version of Part 4.

It's been one letdown after another this month in terms of local DVD releases.  First, it was the Harry Potter "availability" issue.  Then it was the "deleted" deleted scenes of Ratatouille.  Now this.   >:(

They should have just have both versions on one disc ala R1.  But R3 is definitely the theatrical cut (based on the guide posted by boredfilmmaker).

Since it's stated on the DVD case that this is a 'never before seen' version, this is a misprint, and a returnable excuse, though I am keeping mine...

It's starting to show up everywhere, not as rare as one might expect...

Well, they can always say that "Ultimate" here refers to "Action" and not necessarily to "Edition".

antayin ko na lang mag sale ang 2disc since mahal for a misguided packaging ang 750 pesos, or antayin ko na lang talaga na mag release sila ng die hard 4.0 -yipee kay yay motherf*cker edition

I saw a copy at the Viva Stall 5th Floor Shang Edsa but restrained from buying it.  I will definitely wait for the sale or look for the Unrated elsewhere.  Thanks guys!

from Amazon.com

What the unrated version includes:

Many more f-words and MF-ers.
- Extra dialogue between McClane and his captain, Clevino.
- Longer opening intro scene to Matt Long typing to the warlock, listening to rock music.
- Extra banter when McClane and Matt first meet.
- More intro shots at the FBI command center.
- Shot of the National Transportation Center losing control of their traffic grid.
- More shots of false anthrax alarm evacuation.
- Thomas Gabriel's hodgepodge of video of Nixon/Bush/Clinton speaking is longer.
- Blood spurts!!! More gore, though not significantly more.
- More McClane-isms. When John is driving the police car in the tunnel towards the helicopter, Rand shoots the engine, which lights on fire. McClane quips, "Well the car's on fire, that can't be good."
- When Matt runs to his side after McClane destroys the helicopter, McClane adds, "100,000 people are killed every year by cars. What's another 4?"
- Quick shot of dead guards in power plant.
- When Mai dies in the elevator explosion, McClane screams a profanity laced tirade at her.
- McClane flying (and landing!) helicopter scene much longer.
- The guy getting crushed in the giant blades scene doesn't have much more blood.
- Yippee-kay-yay mf-er is said in full!

imagine these short scenes, they still cost a lot of production money & added more thrill to the movie experience.

...now that's worth 750 pesos!  ;)

Agree again ( spin a win! ).  Which makes the theatrical cut  worth P299!   I'd really wait for the viva sale instead.  Or look elsewhere...  Thanks again for all these info guys.   In dvd purchases these days, with price drops coming in as rain drops in rainy days, restraint is the order of the day.  Easier said than done, though.

The image and product description is identical to the one released locally.

Usually, the disc contents of DVDs released by FOX is identical throughout the entire region, so I'd bet it's also the theatrical edition.

Does anybody here have the Region 2 Ultimate Action Edition? Does it have subtitles? There's no mention of subtitles in cd-wow for the Region 2 release. Even in Amazon.uk, there's also no mention of subtitles.
