What is your most prized possession DVD?
« on: Nov 02, 2007 at 03:03 AM »
DVD's you won't even think of selling nor be touched by anyone except you.  ;D  This may be your most favorite or most expensive DVD, your choice.

Let me start:

1) CARS BestBuy Exclusive with 4 cars box set. - most favorite animation
2) Edward Scissorhands in Tin Case. - most favorite Johnny Depp movie, entire family loves it.
3) 300 Steelbook - of course...
4) Shelly Duvall's Faerie Tale Theatre - the very first DVD I bought for my kids
5) Rex Navarette's Badass Madapaka and Hella Pinoy - I watch this whenever I am in trouble  ;D

For me, the titles I'd likely be saving are:

1) Scream Trilogy (Korean Edition w/ the glow in the dark ghostface front)

2) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) - I just loved the packaging and design

3) The Lost World: Jurassic Park - My very first DVD bought in 99

4) Spider-Man - since its my favorite DVD

5) Titanic (Collector's Edition) - since I paired it with an authographed picture of James Cameron

im leaning towards those titles released in the early days of the dvd craze and were subsequently re-released with more supplementals since most of them are already OOP.  case in point, the original xmen 1 disc release.
the first saving private ryan dd only. the gladiator signature 2 disc.  you get the drift.  yun nga lang i have no idea kung OOP talaga. ;D

The only regret I have is I can't fully display my prized DVDs because I'm afraid of someone accidentally setting fire to the house. I keep them all in plastic storage bins for an easy escape. Oh well, safety first.

My aforementioned list:

Lord of the Rings Extended Platinum Editions
Lord of the Rings Standard Editions
Spider-Man 1 Gift Set
Spider-Man 2 (and 2.1)
Spider-Man 3
In the Mood for Love (Criterion)
Chungking Express
Seven Samurai (Criterion)

Adding:

Blade Runner 5-disc Ultimate Edition
Die Hard Trilogy (the old one that's reportedly OOP already, not sure)
Live Free and Die Hard
Transformers (Optimus Prime transforming case)
Transformers Animated Movie (20th Anniversary edition)
The Monster Squad (!)
Battlestar Galactica Seasons 1 and 2 (The new series)
Indiana Jones Trilogy (barebones, but I'd choose it any day over other titles)
Back to the Future Trilogy
Jurrasic Park (first DVD I ever got)
Metropolis (second DVD I ever got)
Casablanca 2-Disc special edition
Pulp Fiction
Reservoir Dogs
Sin City Extended, Unrated, Uncut
Batman
Batman Returns
Batman Forever
Batman Begins

And masunog na ang lahat na ito 'wag lang ang:

Cinema Paradiso gift set

Is there a list somewhere here of DVDs you regret ever having/getting/buying?
