Hi buddy, there's a thousand and one comparisons on the web so I just posted some very clear and concise comparos which state the 'general' characteristics of both technologies. Now a caveat if you will, some of the articles are not as up-to-date as we'd like them to be so please take note of the review / article date as well.  Enjoy!  ;)

And here's one for computer monitors, http://en.allexperts.com/q/Monitors-1521/LCD-vs-CRT.htm

And there's a very rich discussion we're having on the power consumption debate between the TV format types.  Best you visit this thread as well: http://pinoydvd.com/board/index.php?topic=74670.0

Cheers!  ;)

Also we're going HD by 2011.  NTC will not renew broadcast licenses of TV stations if they don't go HD by that year.  NTC is looking into 3 HD standards that they will adapt (Europe, U.S. and Japan).  No news as to whose.

Viewers will be paying for their HD broadcasts.  For those who want to keep using their CRT type TV's, you have the option to buy a converter.

It's actually digital tv broadcast wherein the broadcaster has the OPTION to transmit HD-quality video. I would wager that what we'll be getting will be standard definition broadcasts only.

By the way, I've seen that NTC has already chosen DVB-T as the digital broadcast standard.
