Topic: R3 DVDs that work on HD DVD players

Hi guys, pls. help me naman come up with a list of R3 DVD's that work on HD-DVD players.
so far the ones I tested and worked are

- Batman SE
- Batman Returns SE
- Batman Forever SE
- Batman & Robin SE
- Easter Parade
- First Blood
- First Blood Part 2
- Rambo 3
- The Phantom of the Opera
- The Lion In Winter
- The Elephant Man
- The Fast and the Furious

just found out last night that the R3 THX 1138 works.

Im using an HD-A2 BTW

Hindi kaya R3 disks are only designated as "R3" to comply with the law but are actually mostly region free? 

I clearly remember the very first time I bought a region-free JVC DVD player in 1999.  The store specifically clarified that they still had to declare the region of that player as R1 despite the fact that it was not region locked anymore.

hmmm.. seems like I'm only the one interested in finding R3 DVD's that work on the HD-DVD player 

I really hope there's a way to break the region coding.

Hindi kaya R3 disks are only designated as "R3" to comply with the law but are actually mostly region free?

From my experience:

1. The OLDER (catalogue) Warner titles are usually Region-Free, but the newer blockbuster titles (especially those that come out on R3 ahead of R1 and have a different UPC number from the R1) are exclusively Region 3.

2. Imported Magnavision (currently Php 695)  titles are either locked to Region 3 or Region 3/4. The locally-pressed variants (Php 199, 299, 475) are usually Region-Free.

3. Viva's Fox/Disney titles (all imported) are locked to Region 3. Their other titles are Region-Free, but are also full screen and of very poor image/audio quality, so don't bother upscaling them with an HD DVD player... or even buying them in the first place.

4. C-Interactive titles are all Region-Free.
