The last Sleeping Beauty was not so bad, it's not yet part of Platinum Edition then.

But I think owners of that can skip this, unless they want to own each and every one of the PE.

Having owned that one, I think the one to get is the Bluray version, since eventually all Platinum versions will get that treatment... Just like Snow White PE, the first to (new) format, will be the hardest to find (eventually)...

With the recent digibook packaging in BD, I'm disappointed Disney will start their BD Platinum Series in ordinary packaging.

Ultimate Disney says that the Bluray version is going to be 3-disc, presumably with the third-disk being Sleeping Beauty in Standard DVD. If this is true, then the Bluray version is the one to get...

Hopefully, the third disc is not those useless 'Digital Copy'...

Checked Amazon after reading your post, and I think it's confirmed -- Sleeping Beauty (Two-Disc Platinum Edition - plus a Bonus DVD of the movie). Seems practical to buy the BD+DVD instead, but what about my Platinun Series collection

That's what I have problem with...

But having the Special Edition, which seems like a Platinum Edition (2-discs and near perfect transfer). I will probably get the Bluray....

Given that The Nightmare Before Christmas Bluray comes with a Digital Copy of the film, I had a bad feeling that the third disc of the Bluray version will be a Digital Copy and not DVD as had been posted on various website including Amazon...

Preordered the Bluray and decided to skip the SD version. Hopefully I will not regret neglecting my Platinum Ed Collection. The funny thing is I still don't have a Bluray player...

Amazon informed me that the BD won't have the platinum slipcase, which is a no no for me

Anyway, this is a Disney classic which I'll probably watch only once. One thing I'm sure of, I'm double dipping on my all-time favourite Beauty and the Beast when it's released on BD.

Uh-oh. Might reconsider not getting the SD. Meron na kasi ako 2-copies ng SE (US and Canadian (I assume, kasi may french). So harder to justify getting 3 copies (SD, Bluray, R3) of this new release. The slipcase worth $20? Oh well, might as well, instead of losing sleep and regretting, those are worth over $20.

The Sleeping Beauty Bluray is kick starting my sealed (until I get a Ps3 anyway) Bluray collection. Next up, Chungking Express Criterion Bluray... oops OT.

Got my Bluray version today. Not only does it have a slipcase but it got a better slipcase - one with flip cover (the kind pe used to be - ie. Snow white, bntb). The dvd version has the o-ring type slipcase.

Keep it. As always, the slipcase is probably limited to the first few batches. And despite the Bluray slipcase's being better, it's still nice and fit better (on display) with your other PE's.
