The Ultraviolet mess
« on: Mar 15, 2008 at 05:59 PM »
Apparently, there are 3 different version of Ultraviolet:

Ultraviolet 2 DVD imported edition
Ultraviolet 1 DVD imported edition theatrical cut (shorter version)
Ultraviolet 1 DVD budget edition

All are DVD5.  If it's "imported", why isn't it in DVD9?

I need to clarify a very common misconception that's frequently being brought up on these forums:

NOT ALL IMPORTED DVDs are DVD-9s.

It really depends on the length of the main feature and how many bonus features/audio tracks are included. If the film's under two hours and hardly has any features other than a trailer, there's a big chance it'll be on a DVD-5, no matter where the disc is pressed.
