new gears in the house

infinity kappa perfect 12dvq and JL12w3v2 subs in a 'simple kappa box' tuned to 20hz

powered by pilyo's amp3 with 20A transformer

modded case with fan

diy'd center speaker stand using 3/4" MDF and covered with vinyl laminate. now, the height of the center is same with the fronts

2'x4'x4" acoustic panel using 2 sheets of 2" rockwool at the back corners

av rack....very messy wiring ;D

sir, you have a very nice place and gears and well placed and anticipated. may I suggest you have someone make a false back on the av rack so you can hide the wires... nothing fancy, just a piece of veneered plywood cut to the size of the space behind it. just make sure that it can be installed and removed with the equipments in place in case you need to add or remove some...

@timber715,

thanks sir. matagal ko ng gustong lagyan ng false wall kaya lang dami ng wire na nakakalat at daming bubutasan sa board. dapat palitan ko ng longer speaker wires so i can moved them all in one whole bunch on one side then madali nalang pagawa ng butas sa false wall.

thanks sir johne :)

Weng, when you use the SMS-1 mic, make sure that it is pointed as high up as possible. It is designed for "grazing incidence."

ah ganun ba? does it mean i have to point the tip of the mic to the ceiling? will the tip of the mic be at the same level of my ear while seated at the sweet spot?

thanks sa tip.

thanks sa tip.

Ideally, the mic should point directly at the ceiling and at the same level as your ears. A slight deviation should not matter much.

Also, if you use pillows as your stand, they may vibrate and affect the readings. Ideally, you should use a mic stand with boom.

my bro is planning to set up a simple HT. i offered him my wharfe evo10 BS for a start. since he is scouting for a wharfe evo center, i am contemplating on releasing my evo center and replace it with a new center w/ 6.5" woofers to match the evo30 FS.

i inquired sir anthony and he recommended his tablette center w/ 2x 6.5" woofer and vifa tweets.

can i easily timbre match the tablete center with the use of audyssey? i am also thinking of replacing the "plastic" DFS to a tablete dipole (if there is any).

what do you guys think, am i going the right direction?

Brader Weng - you also might like to post this question in the A-Audio thread or maybe the wharfe speaker thread - those with Wharfe and a-audio tablettes might offer their feedback.

During Anthony's last sale, I scored a tablette set for my gaming rig - the center speaker was the 6.5". Sayang nga i didnt get to test it kasi ang laki ng enclosure so I had it changed to the 5.5" version. But my L&R speakers remained 6.5".

thanks brader mac, i will post this on a-audio thread.

is the vifa a soft dome tweet? the wharf sports a soft dome tweets so it should have the same soft dome too on the a-audio center.
