ht should be published at What hi-fi or Sound & Vision Magazine!

If local maybe Speed or Gadgets mag.

I'm now torn between Optoma HD33 or Sir Tiens Panny PT AE8000 or SnS PT AE7000U, although it's just IN MY DREAMS! hehehe as of now.

when i win the Mega Lotto i hope to have a simple p.j. setup.

Sir we are currently building our house now and i reserved a HT room (4 x 4). Is the room space enough? Anyway The room setup is just like yours. I'm really curious how you fixed your wiring setup na malinis tingnan. how did you put the wires in the Wall and the ceiling na for future upgrades madali lang ba palitan yung wires or fixed na siya? Ako lang kasi mag sasabi sa contractor what to do sa HT ko. Ang plan ko kasi is to make sure that all the basic and necessary cables, wires, electrical sockets is placed na while the house is being made. Any tips sir? I currently have a 7.1 speaker (wharfdale) setup ,a yamaha 633 receiver, a motorized projector screen and a 50" TV.

sir, pvc pipes were laid out on the ground and in walls before they were cemented. the wires are semi fixed because the longest part are difficult to remove due to the sharp corners.

i suggest to make your room 4x5 or a rectangular shape. mine is square because most of the partition in my house are 5x5 like the kitchen, dining, living room and bedrooms. i did not have plan to build a dedicated HT when i was building the house before. if i were to do it again, it would be a rectangular shaped room with the audio rack on the side.

I noticed in your gears list you put down your projection screen to be painted..what kind of paint did you use? and how is the performance of using paint versus the typical projector screen cloth?

i use boyse paint ata then add a few drops of black for tinting to make it gray. did several trials 'till i got the color i want based on the blacks during movie playback.

i have not compared my screen to a branded one coz i don't have one. but friends who visit my place said they were satisfied.

bought it from emman2008 long time ago. nakatambak lang at ngayon pa nagamit.

sir simple lang ang layout ng wirings. nasa loob ng orange electrical conduit ang mga wires and one end goes to the wall on the AV rack while the other ends sa speaker location. i DIY all the speaker plates using blank plates and binding post sold at electronic shops.

meron yata si anya, check mo nalang ang marketplace. pag wala try DIY kahit isa and see if okay sayo aesthetically.

a small update on my setup today.

installed a 19" LCD as secondary monitor. very convenient when scanning movies or while playing FLAC and internet radio.

my LCD had only VGA input so i ordered an HDMI (male) to VGA (female) from amazon 'coz none was available locally. a cheap CDR King male-to-male VGA cable completed the link to the lcd monitor. then, set the HDMI output of the onkyo 818 to both MAIN and SUB.

Ive been thinking of the same thing brader. Either i use a long hdmi cable to connect to a tv or get a tablet or small display. Onkyo app for ipad sucks big time....

very convenient kaayo sir. just use an LCD monitor with DVI input, mas cheaper. HDMI to DVI cables are also available locally.

i've bought the HDMI (M) to VGA (F) from amazon for $20 so i can use my old PC monitor which was gathering dust in the closet.
