Pwede naman, just use the sub's built-in low pass filter (if any) to cut higher frequencies.

Strange.  Yesterday, I brought my 550A to 5th Avenue to audition some speakers.  I also brought my Rti for comparison.  I was surprised that my speaker performed well at the showroom. Initially I thought it was due to listening environment.  When I got I home, I hooked up the 550A again to my system and was surprised that the bass that was sorely lacking a few days ago was there now.  I'm not really looking for chest-pounding bass.  It's just that last week (when I first brought home the 550A) it was really flat sounding.  I was pretty sure that my speaker wiring was correct.    I also checked that the tone bypass was off.  I didn't replace cables so those mustn't be the cause of the problem.  Could it be that either theDacMagic Plus or the 550A (bought on the same day last week) needed some sort of a break-in?  Anyway, I'm quite happy now with the sound.

I've heard 30hrs yata. A friend bought 550a almost a month ago sa park square.
I bought 650a today at Smne, nothing mention about break in also I didn't ask.

No price from 5th Ave yet. I'm expecting it to be at around the 840A/C price level before the price drops, which would be below 100k each. The 851 models cost 60% more than their predecessors in terms of current GBP SRPs. The 840s are now down to below 70k in SRP each (PhP), and sometimes come with good discounts.

impeach me to death before i change this budget combination that is my 24 inch stand

i dont have 45 cds! i only listen to 5!!!! my SALN(conscience) says i need a new turntable but the prosecution(wife) might cry foul!!! my cardas cross ic and silver speaker cables were gifts therefore i dont have the original or photo copies of the receipts...hahaha.

yes 851a,....was in shang yesterday..heres what grabbed my attention...mezzo 6....840a...740 c-black..dac magic plus. sheesh i could only imagine your e/w/a/c....grabe ka my friend(stagea)...hahaha.

wala ata sa sale so yung 840a, mga 60k, pero bago, yung 740c demo...hanga ako sa 840a kasi yung ang ginamit sa demo nung mezzo 2......grabre talaga...ayos na ayos  bass,mid,high....iba siya. lahat ng 5series, 350a/550a/650a...parang parepareho compared sa 840a,....okay  din  5 series.

550a/650a nuetral pareho.......... hindi ko ma pinpoint ang difference kasi the listening room in trinoma sucks.

840a + mezzo 2....pwede pang critical listening. kahit mababa volume setting malinaw at malinis mid,highs. bass parang ngang humina pero luminaw at bilog(tight). dito ko naintindihan at pansin yung hifi linggo na FAST.

851a....ipon ipon pero pasadong pasado na 840a.

panalo din 350a,550a,650a + mezzo 2....so walang talo

Sir need help.... 650a pre out is L & R, kailangan bang connected both or just 1 para sa sub? I connected kse acoustimas 10 sub gumana naman kaya Lang it has 1 RCA cable Lang. Baka Lang kse mas malakas or better bass if L&R connection. Just in case meron po bang RCA cable na prang Y that I can use?
Also I'm using this sub for hk & ca, meron din po bang switch I can buy? Right now I'm using the game selector switch na ginagamit ko sa mga old CRT tvs for multi connect. Pra kse pong not heavy duty, not hi-fi itong game selector na ito. Cheap made po kse.

It won't be louder if you have everything properly matched, but you'd get inputs from both channels. You can construct a simple passive summing circuit using either a transformer or resistors. Pwede mo rin pagawa sa mga builders dito sa board.

Also I'm using this sub for hk & ca, meron din po bang switch I can buy? Right now I'm using the game selector switch na ginagamit ko sa mga old CRT tvs for multi connect. Pra kse pong not heavy duty, not hi-fi itong game selector na ito. Cheap made po kse.

That should suffice, since LF info lang naman. You can have someone build a switcher for you or buy one commercially, if you prefer.

so kung 'neutral' yung 550a/650a and my wharfs are 'warm' and my pio lx50 is 'lively' mukang palatable naman yung combi right mga friends?

sale? i think so. the 50 series.

550a/650a? maliit lang difference..pati sa price. so kung okay budget mo go high or, low and a phono stage 540p nasa 3k plus ata. 6k plus  naman 640p.

depende really kung anong kailangan mo partner. yung 51 series meron additional features/upgrades. pero nasa 28k-651a. naalala ko lang presyo nung 550c...less than 15k cash/straight charge. yung 550a mahal ng konti pero mababa sa 18k. yung 650a ata nasa 20k.

ask  ivan or stagea for sound advice and sound advice meron siya warfs at cambridge.

auditioned a 350a yesterday then went back to 5th avenue as they have a 550 on hand. i had the unit tested and there was distortion on the left channel. they found out that the speaker wires being used had molds inside and immediately replaced them with wires in better shape. the distortion was gone and all i could hear was a clear punchy sound i have never heard at home. tried some of their cds and even had my ipod connected to the slot on the front. played some megadeth and i fell in love with the amp. had them wrap the lovely thing for me.

so part 2 of the story is that i took it home. hooked it up and heard the distortion on the left channel. i tried other speaker wires and even different speakers but the distortion was clearly on the left channel. choosy ba talaga sa speaker wires ang mga ganitong amps? need help guys, thanks

update:

tested with headphones and the left channel is still distorted. i changed the power socket to the one with the fuse. then i used it again. then a few seconds into playing music from an mp3 source i heard a gentle pop and viola the distortion was gone. come to think of it, it was like what happened back in the store.

hopefully i don't have to "break it in" every time i go on a listening session. will have to observe for a week. so far the music is flowing beautifully and all i can say is that this thing is LOUD!

check connections(speakers and source) must be snug. hand tight.

check condition of connectors. speaker cables and interconnect.

speaker cable, ecosse cs 2.3 about 2k/2.5m or, maybe less if discounted.- audioworld banawe cor sct. alcaraz qc. you might also want banana plugs. 500pesos up/set of four. depends what brand/type. bare wire okay naman.

Never had this issue with 550A. Agree with Master Joey, make sure you have good connection. Also, check other sources if it's doing the same thing.
