LOADING SPEAKERS WITH LEAD SHOT
« on: Mar 29, 2008 at 08:59 PM »
Hi! fellow Pinoydvders,
I have a pair of Usher 6371 floorstanding speakers. It does have a compartment for putting LEAD. Whats the purpose of putting lead? What changes in terms of the sound will happen to the speakers? Where to purchase the Lead and how much led should be put in. Should i or  should i not? Thanks!

That's about the same as sand-filling it (using construction dry sand not beach sand).  The purpose is to minimize cabinet resonance by making it heavier and more rock-solid like.

But unless you plan to resell your speakers in the future, don't.   ;D
