After the miserable failure of their Beowulf pre-order promo, I think Warner may think twice before offering up any special items with a premium priced boxed set.

My gulay naman. Beowulf was doomed to fail from the beginning 'coz of the steep price, corny premium items and a Director's Cut that's only a minute longer than the theatrical version! Warner should realize that we consumers prefer a Php 750 steelcase two-disc DVD release (like The Departed) over notebooks shrinkwrapped with an Amaray-cased DVD.

Knowing Warner, they'll probably bundle it shrink-wrapped with a comic book, stickers, faux leather journal and pen, then sell it for 3000.

But if they bundle it with that razor, I'm in!

malabo. i dont think warner is treating sweeney as a high profile release, so getting that steelbook here is...but then again, i hope im wrong.

Yeah, I hope you're wrong. Because if Magna is contemplating on releasing a steelcase packaging for Cloverfield, the more Warner should for Sweeney Todd.

I haven't bought a Warner title at full price since Order of the Phoenix. Their recent releases have been unexcitingly expensive compared to Magna and Viva titles that sometimes go on sale a few days after their market release.

good lookin' out for that steelbook ST release...hope Warner does release this locally. R1 release suffering from not too good PQ, but AQ is very good, from a review I saw.

if it really gets released, I plan on getting this steelbook as well .. it's not listed anywhere na kasi.. I actually got the R1 TWEC exclusive steelbook already but it pales in comparison to that..

why don't they just bundle the "premium" items together with the DVD? If ever i live in Quezon Province and had to get the prize in Quezon City. They can keep it.

Still hoping for the steelcase though.

like i said, malabo. look at the treatment that legend got. it's a 250 million grossing blockbuster and all it got was the standard amaray packaging despite it being a high profile title. what chance does sweeney, who grossed somewhere around 50 million has of getting the steelbook route. heck, im even worried about it coming with the slipcase. like i said, i HOPE im wrong.

Hey I saw an ad of this in astroplus the other day..Didn't have much details but the price was listed.

2 discs with comics- P799
2 discs- P699

i've noticed that Warner's prices are getting higher, unlike before when 2 disc sets cost around 499-550. If its a steel case i might give in.

Yeah, they call it a comic, but it's actually a booklet, similar to the one included with 300.

It's in stores already today.

Yup. the 699 price tag lately by warner is a tad high which is surprising. If I'm not mistaken, 2-disc titles used to be 550.

speaking of Beowulf LE, it was on sale (from 1299 to 850pesos) at Astro Festival. Still expensive. And yah, the least they can do with Sweeney Todd was to put a slipcase on. They did it for Horton, with an a-ok price of 275 pesos.
