It should also consume less power than a ps3 as well which is good for marathon sessions :) Hope it does a good job on flac as well as i have a lot of them.

The Music and Photo features are pretty basic, not as well developed as the Video features.  It does support flac, and most audio formats.  You can make playlists in your PC and export it to the TViX, you can't make a playlist on the player itself...  :-\

Photo slideshows are just that...no transitions nor effects...needs a lot of work, which DviCo have promised to do (they're pretty regular with firmware updates).

Just a few pictures of the interface...icon mode is great!  Sorry the pictures aren't that great, my fault.  It's much sharper IRL (the interface is already 720p).

The main screen:

Movie Category folder contents:

Movie Folder contents:

I took some screen shots but they looked like film transfer shots, the pictures (in my camera/hands) were light years away from the PQ on the screen...just look at the Popcorn thread for PQ, pareho lang :)

It's a bit expensive compared to the Popcorn Hour, about $400.  Luckily the peso conversion was still 41  ;)  That's without a (SATA) HDD.  I put a 750gb Western Digital, and I'm already kicking myself for not going with a 1 GB.  My 1GB external HDD is also nearing it's capacity  ::)

Baka meron pedeng magpahiram ng TVix for 2 days lang during my vacation at the end of July.  I just want to test this unit with my contents, particularly the 1080p.

In return, I'll give you contents.  As much as your external hard drive can take.

hi sir, did you buy it directly in vietnam or was it purchase online? Do they have a website sir? I'm also interested in their products but
my target is the lower models because of the price, either the 6500A or 5100SH. Do you know how much those models cost? Thanks.

I finally connected it to the router to test streaming capabilty...it streams 1080p files from my PC flawlessly!  This is regular 10/100 network, not even gigabit yet. This is much better than trying to figure out what should go in the internal HDD, or sticking in an external USB port...well for me, anyway  :D

Villman also carries the TVIX, but I'm not sure if they have this model.  Maybe the older ones.

Villman carries TViX products, but as of a few months ago wala pa yung latest models.  But the previous generation still plays most HD files out there.  The only difference is the newer ones have HD audio support.

Novatron has no mkv support.   ::)

TVIX vs
Question:

Is there any NMT out there which is equal to or faster than TVIX in terms of browsing the movie list and boot up time?

I have an egreat M34A and I tell you comparing this to my TVIX M7000A is really like comparing a dog to a turtle.  Egreat is kinda slow.  Also, i noticed that after applying the newest firmware to the TVIX, the color and contrast really boosted up.  Better in picture quality than the egreat.

Oh well, there goes the price difference :)

Problem is where to get a TViX in the Philippines.  The local distributor discontinued importation of DViCO products.  Mga tira na lang mga naiwan.

I purchased my TVIX in Singapore, the distributor is Memory World - they have their stores in SimLim and Funan ... I was talking to the manager and asked if he is willing to ship units in the Philippines with dealers price for volume purchase ... The manager mentioned that he give a dealers price for at least a minimum purchase of 5 units ... If you guys are interested, you can search Memory World and communicate with them for group purchases and shipment ... I cannot remember the dealers price given, but it was substantial.

Probably better if one of our sellers in PDVD go directly to the manufacturers para better pricing.

The experience using a TVIX is really a lot better in  terms of quality - not only picture but sound quality as well especially if you are playing HD ... sound quality difference is really noticeable comparing it with PCH.  Stability is another thing that is way above the rest.

Raptor, I agree with your post.  Being a TVIX M7000A user for over a year now really gives me an experience worth telling.  I have brought this tank to at least everywhere I go that has an LCD monitor (HDTV) - discovery shores, amanpulo, camayan in subic, Eskaya in bohol, etc.

Just this week, got my Thecus Network Attached Storage with 4 bays.  Loaded it with 1.5TB Seagate drives and had it filled with 1080p movies from my source/supplier.  Originally, I ordered the 5 bay model, so when the unit arrives, I still have 1.5TB free plus a few hundreds of GBs left.  My 1080p is running 700 titles now and almost 400 720p mkvs.  I love this setup, my Home Theater is now complete and no more clutters, wires and blu ray discs!
