Yup, wala pa naman ako na-experience na problem. Kahit sa mga ibang BD ko.

The firmware of the bdp-1500 does not have any issues unlike the bdp-1400.

That seems to be correct for the 1500. I already have upgraded several times and haven't encountered any problems yet. And every update seems to make the player perform better. Keeping my fingers crossed.

This player is now available in the local market (SM Appliance) at P24,990.00 Wow its quite expensive compared to the pricing you mentioned in this thread. The SRP on the SAMSUNG website is also P24,990.00 Any comment mga bro, is the price worth the performance?

this is selling for $220 in amazon, thats roughly 10,500 at php48 to a dollar exchange rate. if you have it ship by some of our sellers here, the price might reach 14-15k. although its 110 volts. its still 10k difference than those being sold in the local market.

Aside from the PS3, it's still one of the cheapest BD players available locally. As iiinas have mentioned, still cheaper getting it abroad. Checked prices in HK and it's around 18k. If you're into gaming, I would suggest you get the PS3. But if you just want a BD player, you can try this one. There are several units for sale in the market place right now.

Yes, it is available in the philippines. According to the sales person, he can make the player region free. I even asked if he can share the hack code for a very reasonable price.

May setting yan eh. Baka naka-set yung display sa lowest. Check mo na lang sa settings.

Sir, have you tried using the hack? I'm torn between getting a BD 1500 or a Sony S350. But if this hack works might get the Samsung.

based dun sa link, only sets from r4 are the ones that can be successfully hacked. so really depends on where your unit will come from.

Haven't tried the hack since I still have my region-free dvd player for SD playback.

You will be able to watch BDs, just not in HD resolution. I-swipe na yan!!!

tried the bright setting but still not that bright. hehehe. lol.

anyway, it doesn't affect naman its playing capability. it doesn't bother me that much as long as it plays all the bd's i have.

never encountered any problems with this player so far.. it really is a greay bd player.

If you're into gaming and opted to buy a PS3 rather than the Samsung BD Player, hindi ba ya madaling masisira if you're watching blu-ray most of the time ?

Marami naman meron dto gamit talaga ps3 for blu-ray, swerte nila sa ps3 nla. Pero kung blu-ray collector ka, maganda talaga may dedicated bd player.

Sayang naman PS3 kung most of the time ay movie viewing ka lang. It think it's advisable just to get a stand alone BD player. Mas mura pa.
