Regarding HD box, napansin ko na nagkaroon na rin ng 1080p option sa settings. Ito yung Skyworth HD box na 1080i lang ang maximum dati.

tried it using tab and can only access ABS CBN LIVE streaming and their tele serye. but for other channels, d ako makapasok. " im on DUAL DEF 549 using Globe internet "

I have the same model and I've used the digital audio. Beware though, the output is only 2 channel, Sky does not have 5.1 as of now regardless of how you configure your box.

The digital audio out is located at the rear of the box - it's called SPDIF.

You can also refer to your manual - the diagram of the rear panel is on page 10. The SPDIF is item 9.

Model pala nito ay HCBS. Then wala din sya audio out sa likod...
Ang andun lang po yung rca and coax connections

Pede ba e request sa sky ito na palitan ung digibox na may optical audio?

I need help. I recently had sky hd digibox installed. Unfortunately, my plasma tv has one hdmi port only and i have two more hd devices. So, i bought an hdmi switcher. The switcher works with the other hd devices. The switcher will work with the digibox if the other hd devices are on. Any idea why it's not working properly?

How does Sky on demand work? It says it's free with the 50mbps plan. Does it mean I technically don't need to subscribe to cable TV anymore since I can watch any channel, any show, anytime I want?

Bro, I inquired with Sky about this -- well, the 1599 plan with 8Mbps + Sky on Demand. This is akin to PLDT Fibr with modem that streams Cignal channels to the TV.
With this, instead of a digibox, you will be given the Sky On Demand box, which is a modem that will stream your cable channels. Plan 1599 includes the Dual Def 299, which has 41 channels (5 are HD) -- I'm not sure about the higher plans like the 50Mbps one.
Aside from this, you will get a Sky On Demand account that you can use to login to their Android/IOS app. With the app, you get access to movies and other contents on the portal plus all the cable channels available to you plan as well. In effect, you get a free extension but limited to one device at a time only (excluding the TV). To be clear, you get to watch cable on your TV via Sky on Demand modem and another family member can stream another channel via the app on a separate gadget -- you can even stream channels on the go if you have a reliable to mobile connection. I think this is a good deal from Sky.

What is not clear to me is the bandwidth used by the modem to stream the channels to the TV. I think it shares the same Internet bandwidth allocation. In this case, it will compete with the household internet traffic and the effect will be felt especially when watching HD channel on TV. But for 50Mbps, there should be more than enough headroom to worry about this.

What puzzles me also is the fact that they have a 2Mbps plan that inclues the Dual Def 299 plan as well. I'm not sure how much bandwidth is needed to stream a HD channel but 2Mbps seems to be too low for this, which makes one think the Sky on Demand box uses a different bandwidth allocation dedicated for streaming on TV. I think this is a possibility since the household can't watch Youtube and Nat Geo HD at the same time on the same 2Mbps line.

recently had changed my folks subscription to dual def 999 from gold. so far good naman. internet naman ngayon ang trial nila with sky. bayantel doesn't cut any more with a very noncompetitive price

back to Skycable HD:

1) so far I'm satisfied with DualDef 549 and was pleasantly surprised with several HD-Channels included but are not on the website's channel listings, I'm not sure if those HD Channels are permanent and that the website is just NOT updated (there are more than a dozen extra HD channels, documentary, movie and entertainment)

2) I have the Skyworth DigitalBox:
- with 1080i and 1080p setting
- it has a small footprint (4" x 6.5")
- I just configured the TVBox to skip the channels that are not accessible (not subscribed to) making channel browsing more fun.

3) I kinda like the remote control :-) it's easy on the hand compared to my bulky RC plus it does basic function for my Samsung TV
- it can turn my TV's power On/Off
- it can turn the Volume Up/Down

HELP NEEDED:
4) I have not tried iRecord yet - any TIPS would be appreciated
- I would like to record to a USB/external drive via the USB port included

5) I can't access the advertised 25th Anniversary "Auto Activated" International channels for Nov12 to Nov28.
- Do I NEED to re-Scan my DigiBox???

Itawag mo sir sa sky, nangyayari yan kapag nag activate sila ng promo channels naka off yung box mo. Sakin yung main box ko kuha yung promo channels ngayon but yung extension box wala, itinawag ko lang, no need to re-scan.

naka SD box ako. upgraded my TV from 32" to 50". Ngayon, parang sobrang blurry na images.

planning to get dualdef 549....

^Bro, not much improvement sa quality ng local channels kahit HD box. Lilinaw lang talaga pag HD na yung source like yung ABS-CBN HD na sobrang linaw.

@desertfox615 - kung 50” ang TV mo kelangan mo mag DualDef - you will surely appreciate and enjoy the HD experience kasi ibang-iba ang picture quality at
tama si larokulit, yung SD signal sa 32” lumaki lang sa 50” TV
I have a 32" and a 46" Full HD TV, mas masarap talaga manuod ng HD the bigger the better kaya kung manalo ako sa sakla mamaya :-) I would get a 50-55" LED TV kasi yun lang ang kasya sa room ko.

EDIT: btw, it's not all about the size of the display/TV because the resolution matters
a Full-HD (1920 x 1080p) is better than an HD-Ready (1366 x 768 or just plain 720p) kaya ingat sa pag-upgrade dahil merong mga very affordable brands na up to 40++ inches pero its not even true 1080p. UpScale lang pero kung hindi nyo naman makita/mahalata ehh there's nothing wrong :-)

Hi i recently bought a 48" tv, para kasi ako masyado nalalakihan sa tv nakuha ko ata...

Saka napansin ko pag sd mga channels medyo hindi ko ma appreciate ung pinapanood ko parang medyo malabo
