Hits will ceased it's broadcast on April 1, 2022. This is not the first time Sky is ceasing it's popular channel due to contract disputes. Korean channel tVN recently ceased it's channel last year. Although tVN is still available on Cignal same thing with Hits Channel. Why is Sky decided not to extend its contract with Hits or tVN?

^ ang lungkot naman. Gusto ko yung mga lumang shows ng Hits, balik sa childhood ko like Baywatch, Murder she wrote, Sabrina, the Nanny, Macgyver… and even old brit shows we never saw like Fawlty Towers.

Has anyone watching the news on the War on Ukraine? Do you watch on a reliable source? Whatever you do, don't watch Russia Today, that channel is dangerous and contains misinformation about the Russian Ukraine War. Sky has RT on their channel lineup but luckily, it is not available on any Sky Cable or Bundle plans. News is a powerful form of content and need to be reliable. Here are some international news channels that are available on SkyCable.
-CNN
-BBC World News
-France 24
-CNA
-Euronews
-Al Jazeera
-HLN

Looks like SkyCable is Ready to bring a 4k channel this month. The latest post from Sky's website "what's new in March" Features another new channel this month with Love Nature 4k. This is the first time will see a dedicated 4k UHD channel on in our country. I think those who have Sky Evo box will Access this channel but those who have 4k tv will benefit this too. I don't have a 4k tv but I have a Sky Evo box; but could it work on Full HD tv with an EVO box?

4K channel on Philippine Pay TV?
Whoa

It seems to make more sense.......given that HDTV prices drop year-on-year
Heck, you can even get a Sony 4K TV for under 27,000 PHP

Has anyone has this issue all of the channels have been unlocked except Love Nature and Global Trekker. You can still get these channels until to you get a message like "You're not subscribe this channel" for regular Digibox or "Cable service is not working properly" Sky Evo ; meaning it's blocked. Has anyone occurred this as of right now?

The cable has now been restored. I can now watch Love Nature and Global Trekker without interruption and other channels are not subscribed to are blocked as well.

For this who have Sky Evo and a 4k tv, do you see the difference in watching Love Nature in 4k or is just in HD?

ABS CBN is to Give up SkyCable as Cignal acquired Sky for ₱7 billion; Are we going to see Cignal channels on Sky like One Sports Plus, Sari Sari, Buko, One Ph and PBA Rush?

These are the two most dominant players in the local cable TV industry. Not sure if this can hurdle the anti-monopoly test, unlike the TV5-ABS CBN collaboration which would still have GMA7 as a competitor.
We deserve better.

ABS CBN  and Cignal agreed to terminate it's joint venture that includes the 33% stake at SKYcable to Cignal. This is citing some concerns from  the NTC and politicians about the Joint venture.

So what now for SkyCable? How will affect their business?

I’m enjoying MTV 90s channel. Didn’t know this existed until I stumbled upon it during our staycation in Tagaytay on Cignal. Didn’t know this was also on Skycable. Brings back memories hehe.

While Sky will no longer have Baby First and Fight Sports on January 1, 2023 ; according to Wikipedia 2023 in Philippine TV, Cignal will cease broadcasting three sports channels BeIn Sports 1, BeIn Sports 3 and EGG on the same day. Luckily Sky won't be worry about BeIn Sports although we don't have EGG gaming channel.

Yung kay EGG, full stop ata for Philippine distribution (since Solar Entertainment ang distribution partner ni ASTRO for this channel).

Ewan ko nalang if may balak pa sila.
Personally though, I would rather na they bring in Animax HD and GEM HD.

Another plus here is that BeIn Sports holds the rights for Formula 1 racing events starting in March this year. Cignal will be out of luck for this. The only option is to subscribe to BeIn Sports Connect streaming service. Sky on the other hand will be very excited to watch it unfolds on the new home of F1!!

Oh wow
Does this mean na mawawala na ang F1 rights permission ni Premier Sports / TAP Media Ventures for 2023?

Or may sharing pa sila? (like what they do sa Singapore)

StarHub and SingTel TV have shared that F1 coverage until last last year. It is also one of the countries BeIn Sports included in the coverage this year.

Tanong pala:
Ano ang pinagkaiba between Sky On Demand Box, Sky All-in Box and yung Sky EVO (which was the latest one launched 2021)?

Also:
Yung mga bagong Skycable box , does it still use the traditional coaxial cable?

Or pure IPTV / internet-based na sya? (e.g. yung TV channels nya are streamed into the box)

I guess this is the end of the road for SkyCable TV service as PLDT reach the agreement to buy 100% of SkyCable Internet service from ABS CBN. Once all the requirements from the government are approved,  the cable tv service will be terminated and only left with its fiber internet service from PLDT. With Pay tv will soon be ceased and the popularity of streaming, I guess I have no choice but to subscribe to Cignal soon. Since I have PLDT home fiber in my house, which is better A Satellite or IPTV and does cignal have DVR function?

Hintay ka nalang muna ng official announcement from SkyCable regarding the status of service......before making any decision.

Ito yung statement from their website:
"Dear SKYcable subscribers,

We wish to inform you of PLDT’s agreement to acquire SKYcable.

While awaiting the required regulatory approvals, we assure you that SKYcable's broadband and cable TV services will continue.

Once approvals are obtained, SKYcable is committed to assisting all its cable TV subscribers to ensure a transition to their preferred service.

Thank you."

I was on Reddit the other day and I post about what why PLDT is willing to buy Sky Internet business and the Ending of its Cable TV service if the PCC gets approval. Only a few comments pops up meaning they don't have interest in that topic. But how about in this community, why is ABS CBN giving up on SKY and why PLDT has so much interest in the first place? Is it when ABS CBN failed to get a franchise or is financial problems like the one that happened to Teleradyo (Which will ceased its broadcast on June 30)?

Also on another topic why is Sky is promoting Rock Entertainment on their social media when in fact they don't have it on the bundle cable tv lineup plans even or on their Sky Select ala carte plans? This is a misleading marketing strategy but I think it has to do with high carriage fees.

Is this all about envy? Gaining from the competition from Converge and Globe? If it is the loser here is still us...the consumer.
I think millenials and gen z always looks on their cellphones and computers for entertainment, most of them don't have TV.
