Buti pa kayo. Kami kasi maraming mataas na bahay kaya hirap ang reception sa room na parents ko. Pero medyo ok sa living room.  Plan ko kung natuloy yung end of skycable, yung antenna sa living room, connect ko sa splitter ng sky tapos derecho sa mga tv sa bahay.
   Meanwhile, nabasa ko online, ayaw daw kunin ng cignal yung ANC ng sky. Conflict sa sarili nila news channel. Kaya pala may nilabas na ANC prestige sa youtube. May bayad na ₱99 per month to watch their content. Pero not worth it for me kasi konti lang naman pinapanood ko doon.

dati yung sa digital box ng abs-cbn ang ginawa ko eh bumili ako ng baron outdoor antenna, position mo lang kung saan makakuha ng malakas na signal.

pero nung may mga digital tuner na yung mga TVs namin, bumili lang ako ng 5 meters na digital tv antenna (same lang duon sa kasama ng affordabox), then nilagay ko din sa labas ng bahay kung saan may malakas na kuha ng signal at sa nde na uulanan & naarawan. yung sa may dining area nga namin na tv kahit na nde sa labas ng bahay, malapit lang sa bintana eh ok naman.

Skycable is now purging 13 channels from its lineup on April 16, 2024 including DaVinci, Outdoor Channel and Fashion TV. The other 10 of them are from Indian channels. Looks like Skycable is now re evaluate their channel lineups as we speak after the Sky-PLDT merger failed. And that high debt that Sky has contributed to the purging of 13 channels. But this is not the end yet. I think There will be more channels to pull out from sky in the coming months.

I think it's more of a overhaul of their channel lineup. Because some of the channels they offered have poor programing or low viewership. These 10 Indian channels they offered then are no longer have an audience so they need to remove from their lineup.

Meron palang hd ng tv5, rpn 9 at ibc 13 sa free to air digital antenna. Sana man lang include nila sa line up nila.

Tanggalin kaya nila yung mga SD channels na redundant.

May HBO HD na.....so hindi na kelangan ng HBO SD.
Also, most people have upgraded to HDTV.

Well this is my last time posting this topic. Because in the following month Sky subscribers are now migrating to the Converge ICT network thanks to their joint partnership last July 2024. Their fiber internet service Skyfiber is now rebranded to Sky Tru Fiber and their tv service will be Sky TV. But unfortunately that means that standalone cable tv will be phasing out soon.
We decided to move to Cignal IPTV since we already have PLDT fiber but first I want to contact Sky on how much is the disconnection fee is your a standalone cable tv sub.
Sky is deteriorating it's channels and by the end of November, it will be all gone. (My speculation)

Im gonna ask if there's anyone out there are still standalone cable tv from Sky please reply and will your switch to Converge network, switching to Cignal or stop cable tv forever. thank you.

We still have Sky Cable, but only on the 2 TV sets used by my mother. She only watches CCM, the Chinese language movie channel, which is part of Sky Cable's add-on Chinese Pack. Other than that, nobody else uses Cable anymore. As long as Sky will retain this channel, we will continue with their services.

What? Di kami nasabihan. We still use cable kasi gusto ng parents ko yung ANC, CNN, Teleradyo.  Ako gusto ko yung TV5 Monde France. Yung mama ko gusto yung KBS Korean channel na wala sa youtube.

Ngek, ako rin may globe na ako. At nakita ko ang line up, wala ang KBS ng nanay ko.
 Ang maganda kasi sa sky- globe set up ko, in case walang cable, pwede sa youtube for local channels. Pag walang internet, may cable.
So paano kaya ito, maghanap na lang ako ng IPTV sa iba?

I just visit the Sky TV page and their Channels lineup is underwhelming. There no SpoTV, no discovery channels, no DreamWorks, no Nickelodeon not even HBO sub channels. I think I'm not gonna enjoy those channels on Sky TV.

Should I talk to PLDT to subscribe to Cignal IPTV when my Sky Cable account is active OR Contact Sky to disconnect the service while then I call PLDT to subscribe to Cignal IPTV?

Our last billing for Sky is Nov. 4. I think I gonna Contact PLDT Home first for Cignal application first before I contact Sky for the disconnection. Unless Sky announced the complete phase out of Cable tv next month.

I PM Sky and said that this is mandatory migration to Converge even if you're a stand alone Cable TV subscriber. They said that you wait for a technician from Converge on how to deal with this situation if you want to terminate Cable tv altogether. In short now I have two ISP in a single household is this happens.

I have rushed thoughts about that SKYcable termination. But Sky won't let because of the migration to converge. But what if I could chat to Sky to cancelled the migration to converge and continue to terminate my Sky account? Do you think they can do it?

We just stayed at Azumi Botique Hotel in Alabang (wherein Skycable ang TV service provider nila)

As of yesterday, Sky lineup pa rin ang active dyan (kasi meron pa rin AXN.............na wala kay Converge TV)

It's official, I disconnected to SkyCable. Turns out I PM SkyCable about the disconnection and they accept the request on my disconnection. Cost cutting is one thing, the other one is the phasing out of Cable tv soon.
I am now preparing to subscribe to Cignal IPTV.

Cignal TV is quite good.
I have mine connected with our PLDT Fiber Optic internet (2499 + Cignal 520)

Well...I'm now with Cignal now. Just waiting for the activation to take place. But it will take 24-48 hours for the activation to commence. The next day after the installation, there still no channels only One PH appear. I tried to rescan but to no avail. I will gonna wait for another day if the channels appear again. As for SkyCable, we return the equipment back to the technician with the two boxes (one of which a sky evo). And that concludes our 18 years for service with SkyCable.  We're glad we disconnect to sky as they now transition to fiber with Converge and soon their cable tv service will cease soon.

I guess this will be my final post then. Thank you SkyCable for giving our family great entertainment for 18 years!!
