Hi All,

Can you guys tell me if your unit can fade to true black (zero illumination) in all modes?

Mine fades to dark gray only for eco, standard, and cinema modes. However, I was surprised to see (after 100+ hours break-in) that dynamic mode fades to true black when brightness is set to 51 below.

Negative points I noticed include a minor slow brightness "pulsing" in certain picture areas (all sources). It's very hard to reproduce but the effect is minor. There's also green phospor lag when in high contrast b/w scenes. Lastly I noticed motion blurring in some high speed scenes.

Overall a very good tv and my meralco bill didn't even change after one month heavy use  ;D

Also try removing the coax cable connected to the tv, its a possible culprit. Then watch a direct source like a dvd player and check if the waves are still present. Hope this helps well as well..
sir  wala pong coax cable na nakalagay, but i'll try to watch a dvd player and check. thanks sir sa advise! ..post ko po result

Hi sirs,

Matanong lang,

Possible ba na machange yung refresh rate ng plasma na ito while in PC mode (via vga cable)?
Sa akin kasi 60hz lang e kaya medyo masakit sa mata. I'm using ATI video card

Hi Folks,

I'm a new 42PV80 owner (barely 2 weeks) and parati na ako nagmamadali umuwi para makapanood ng movie every night.  ;D

Anyone here who can share their settings para miximized yung features? Kung pwede sana yung before and after 100 hours calibration settings. Main use will be for cable and movie viewing.

TIA.

@Carlo777

Thank you very much. I actually read this thread before buying the TV. Too bad TW in Trinoma ran out of stocks when I finally made up my mind to get the PV80. I got the TV from Ansons but no regrets since I got a good deal. Sayang lang kasi I'm sure the after sales service will not be the same as TW.  ;)

BTW im still using my old dvd player that can upscale 720P/1080i only. should i buy new one that can upscale 1080P para mas maximise ko ang viewing experince for my pv80? i have no plans yet for BD player.

Mukhang kakaiba model nung sa yo a... pv 08? hehe... Congrats sa PV80! Sobrang sulit at ganda nyan.
Upscale? Don't know much the difference between an DVD upscaler 1080i vs 1080p? My guru, is there a big difference in PQ between these?

If I were you I'll just stick and enjoy to the fullest your current player. Laspagin mo na yan muna! Ako nga until now I use a regular DVD player (not upscale + ordinary rca plug), masaya na missis ko  ;D hehe.

No need to buy a new DVD player while your old one still works fine.

Just wait for your DVD player to break down, then buy a new upscaling DVD player when it does.

may channel recall ba yung PV80 or channel jump function? meron sa remote "recall" pero mukhang "display" - (displaying present channel info) yung silbi niya. thanks!

ganda talaga PQ ng PV80 kahit na dvd 720P lang ang source.

Just got a PV80 fr SnS this afternoon!

My wife & I compared the C10 & PV80 side-by-side.

We both liked the appeal of the PV80!

Great you have a near legend in your hands ;) The PV80 is still "rocking hard" despite new models coming out.

Me too. I also like the 42pv80 compared to the p42x10.

I think I will have to wait and see for 2010 model for upgrade.  ;)
