Win or lose, Tiger still proved once and for all that he's from another planet.  Man, he's been making magical shots after magical shots.

That pitch dunk shot from the bunker on 17th and that long putt on the 18th and the 13th hole can't be made by man for God's sake -- on a US Open!! Man.

Tiger or Rocco?  I think Rocco's got a chance if both of Tiger's knees are hurting. Or cut off his right arm.

Agree!
either of them wins tomorrow will make headlines. Rocco will be the oldest man to win a major at 45yo, and will by beating Tiger because this appears to be a one-on-one.

similarly, Tiger will make headlines because of his knees and his come-from-ahead win!

Did anyone see Lee Westwood's reaction after making par on the 17th?
His tounge out and holding his hands over his heart and acting like almost faiting.
That was really funny!

Tiger Woods all the way!!!!! I feel bad for Mediate though.

Tomorrow's play-off is almost like a match-play.  As long as Rocco doesn't make any big number on any particular hole, he has a fair chance of beating Tiger over 18 holes.  Don't forget, Tiger made 3 double bogeys on the 1st hole during the past 4 days.

Can it get better than this, as if 18 holes of play-off is not enough.   It aint enough....sudden death it is.

Im a Tiger fan, but if Rocco wins, my hat's off to him.    ;)

Good morning golf buddies!   Told you it's gonna be a match play.

Rocco and Tiger should just share the trophy this year!   Playing Tiger on the 18th is like playing tennis against a wall ;D

If Rocco has to win in extra hole, he has to beat Tiger before the 18th.

Looks like Tiger dodged a bullet.   Rocco is in major trouble.

The Jello is jiggling in the ref.   Tiger can hear the fat lady warming up.

greatest ever win by tiger? hope he hasn't shortened his career by playing with that injured knee.

great showing by rocky/ rocco too. he also deserved to win, but as ol' bill munny said, "deserve's got nothin' to do with it."

hey, this turned out to be a good schedule for me. found good use for my old vhs machine. watched it "live" when i woke up, took only 2 hours by zipping through the ads and fairway walks. none of my hi-def machines could help me today, lol.

So what did I tell ya?  In crucial matches and you're up against Tiger, you don't stand a chance.  You need to break both his knees and take away one arm for you to at least make it an even match.  It's like playing against Michael Jordan in the last minutes of the game and you're just up by 1 point.  You know what will happen.

Great players make great shots -- in crucial moments.  Eagle - Birdie on the 17&18 of the 2nd round for the lead.  Birdie on the 18th hole to force a playoff.  Another birdie on the 18th hole for sudden death.  It's God playing, disguised as Tiger Woods.

One of the best in terms of drama, but definitely not in performance.   He was up and down all week, even sa play-off.   But experts are right, the way Torrey Pines is set-up for US Open, there wont be consistent pars, but more of bogeys mixed with birdies.  Thats the way Tiger played all week.

Regarding the knee, I guess we are left to speculate the real status of that injury.   In my mind, it will be fine.   But I think he may have to rest for a month now, and avoid the regular PGA sked within that period.   Hope he will be back come British Open.

Based on consistency of performance during 4 days of regulation play, that honor should go to Lee Westwood.  He was just one birdie short of joining the play-off with no big numbers on any hole.

I don't care about putting stats but Tiger is the best putter from any range when he needs to make one.

Based on what transpired during the play-offs, it was definitely not that Rocco didn't stand a chance.  In as much as Tiger made the crucial birdie to force sudden death play-off, Rocco missed his own birdie opportunity within 20 ft.   Rocco was just one hair short of the trophy.  One day, someone will be lucky enough to sink that putt.

I guess the best we could hope, is for Tiger to be able to play in the Open Championship next month.   But he doesn't need to force the issue because he has already won a major this year.  Better make sure the knee is fully healed or he risks cutting his career short, jeopardizing his quest to break Jack's record.  It would be sad though if he misses the Open.  Watching them pros play golf in courses designed by sheeps under blustery conditions is a totally refreshing spectacle.  And I really like those bump and run shots from wedge distances.

Grabe si Tiger sa Majors.

Of the last 8 Majors, he won four of them ( 1 US Open, 1 British Open, 2 PGA), and finished second (or tied for 2nd) in three others.   Talked about consistency, huh??  ;)

Wasnt' able to watch live pero napanood ko 1st-18th and back to 7th highlights sa ESPN.
Another exciting day pala...91st hole needed just to declare a winner.
Rocco almost had it twice -- yesterday and the 18th hole on the playoffs.
But Tiger being Tiger made sure he sinked the hole extending putt :):):)

Those are the Lefty fans.  Can't help it, no matter how far the achievements between Tiger and Phil are, both these players are extremely popular.

Sayang lapit na British Open. Golf is never the same without him. In fact I never watch golf if he is not playing.

Have you seen his latest Nike commercial with his father's voice in the background? What a coincidence they released the commercial about his mental toughness and then he played and won the US Open over 91 holes with that injury.
