I have read that Toshiba has new DynaLight Back Light Control that creates movie in seamless transitions and render deep blacks and increased depth. Also CineSpeed technology guarantees fast response times under 8ms and wide viewing angle for a great seat anywhere in the room.

sir vic, can you also PM current CASH prices of plasma and lcds (no HT add-ons) 32 inch to 50 inch. friend who is not internet savy is in need of at least 2 units for his condo (1 for room and 1 for sala) thanks in advance...all brands na siguro he didnt mention brand preferrence kasi.

saw this earlier at sights and sounds it looks good as well as the picture... now i'm really confused which one to get! but since the 32 inches samsung series5 and toshiba av500 37inches only have few difference in price as well as with the color, ill go for toshiba 37inches....

and also, sir vic is so accomodating, thanks so much...

Plasma and LCD have different characteristics. You really have to choose which TV is right for you.

LCD TV produces a bright picture. Hence, it is best for very bright lighting conditions. In a room where the light is nominal, you really have to turn down the contrast and brightness of the LCD. In effect, you reduces the vibrant of its color and deep contrast. Nevertheless, as I said, LCD is good if you wish to watch it in a brightly lighted room.

Plasma is perfect for any room environement: family room, living room, or home theatre.
Compare to LCD, plasma deliver faster motion, higher contrast, and offer natural, true-to-life colour.

From a technology standpoint, LCD is widely accepted for computer based media player. By the way, LCD TV is more preferred for computer monitor. However, plasma TV works best for consumer home video viewing. Choosing the right TV is really about the application and not about the technology.

langya, inapi niyo samsung ko kagabi huhuhuhu... Mas maganda nga toshiba during the comparison, mas naging maputla tuloy yung pq ni samsung nung tinabihan ni toshiba... Pero in fairness sa samsung ko hehe, may instances na samsung is a bit deeper in black than toshiba's.

Pero if I have to pick again, I would have picked toshiba's pq over samsung's design and swivel.

That's true. Plasma TV, like the Panasonic PV8, delivers better picture than LCD TVs. However, for lcd TVs, Toshiba presents better PQ than Samasung.

Don't feel bad. Samsung TV is still a superior brand. Samsung used to dominate the market with its stylish design. But right now, it was beaten by an equally handsome TV yet better in performance. It is like Diaz, who used to hold the crown. Now Pacquiao holds the crown.

We shall do some more evaluations and comparisons in the coming days. Giospike will come back for doing evaluation with full HD categories. We might also ask him to compare Toshiba with Sony. However, not with an old model 32V300. We find it very unfair to beat a new Toshiba with the old Sony TV. Maybe we will do comparison of this Toshiba with 32S400. Or we shall also await for a new Sony V series TV before doing evaluation and comparison.

I think its unfair to compare it with Samsung series 4 in as much as there is already Samsung series 5 and 6. How about a comparison with Series 5 or 6?

We will compare Samsung 5 and 6 with the same counterpart full HD TV. Otherwise, we also find it unfair to compare Toshiba 32AV500--a hd-ready TV--with Samsung 5 and 6 series.
