Best value for 42" LCD TV will be Panasonic 42PZ80 or Sony 40" KLV40s400. Both are full HDTVs but at very low prices.

Toshiba 42RV500, a full HDTV, is also another TV to consider, though it cannot beat the low prices of Panasonic and Sony.
