We currently have limited stocks of Popcorn Hour (PCH) A-100 Network Media Tank (NMT).  We are still confirming orders but for those interested in getting a unit (or reserving one), do drop me a line via PM, YM (richie_see), email (gren77 @ gmail) or SMS (0917 7945003).  We'll have discounts for people who pre-order, as well as those getting multiple units.

For demos and a comparison versus a Silverstone-based HTPC, do visit the shop :)

Here are some photos: http://ehome.multiply.com/photos/album/6/HTPC_Popcorn_Hour_A-100_NMT_Demo_Setup_at_eHome

We're planning to have a PCH launch party/meet soon, so stay tuned for more details.

yes we do, we're still evaluating it, along with another nmt :>  i'd have to say, i'd go for nmt C over the elektron -- its just... nicer.

i'm just updating the firmware on the elektron -- apparently, the firmware is available in their chinese site, but they didn't bother to put it up on their english site.  so hopefully, all goes well and i'll prolly just use it to download stuff at home.

all in all.... i still prefer the pch.  i'm sure elektron meant well by customising the UI a bit more, but i'm not happy with their UI.  for example, sources are in icon form but you could not identify which particular sources -- i still prefer text, at least you know which network path you'rea dealing with.

but, on the plus side, you have to do less 'cable dancing' with the elektron as it allows for easier switching between 'tv-modes'  this is something i could not do with the pch -- as the pch requires you to switch to component cable first then back to hdmi if you encounter the black screen issue with hdmi (no signal).  with the elektron, just press tv-mode + 0 and it allows you to go back to auto much quicker and with greater stability.

but in its heart, its just-another-nmt, with a power button, sata and vga out.  its a bit more expensive than the pch and unless you're going gaga over sata, i'd stick with the a-100.  but then again, there's nmt 'c' :>

do come visit :>

Got my Squeezebox Classic last Thurs. from eHome. Richie and Marvin were very helpful in demoing the product and providing instructions how to set it up. Now I'm enjoying it, especially, the internet radio. Magsasawa ka sa channels and those downstreaming at 128 bit rate are almost indistinguishable from cds. The only difference is the sense of depth.

i heard that pairing up the squeezebox with a real DAC (x-dac? :>) would improve things.  been in the market for a decent sub 400 usd dac but never got around to getting one.  in any case, something to look forward to, eh?

Guys:

We're offering demo-to-own/home demo arrangements for PinoyDVD members who are interested in trying out the Popcorn Hour (PCH) Networked Media Tank (NMT) in the comfort of their own homes.  If you're interested,  just leave a message here and we'll figure out how to go about doing this.

As security, we will need to screen whom we lend the units out to.  Preferences will be given to those who are referred by previous customers or longtime members of the PinoyDVD community.

We're thinking of lending the units across the weekend (Fridays to Sundays or Mondays to Fridays) to give adequate time for you to test out the PCH.

As this will be the first time we'll be doing this, we will welcome suggestions -- we want you guys to decide for yourself whether this product is for you before plunking down your hard earned cash, but at the same time, we want to make sure we don't lose the units :>  So we'll probably have the queue displayed here so we'll know who has the unit and where the next lender can get them from.

PM for details, or post your comments here -- we'll definitely welcome them.
