Thanks bro. I cannot do a false wall at the moment since i have a small room so i have to come up with a screen that will be able to accommodate the speakers behind it. It's a good thing that i have a solid black wall so the effect of a big flat panel is less noticeable when watching movies. Puede na for now.

Sometimes, HT discussions can lead to more satisfying experiences.
Chief Mark and John's (AV Driver) visit today at my hall project is really appreciated.
Once again, a big, big thanks to these fine gentlemen for all the support and help in trying to tame this hall's acoustic challenges.

For a retreat house Sonny. This would be the multi-purpose hall for most of our activities.
My room would probably be 1/200th the size of this hall. hahaha

Yup. Ganun naman talaga ang acoustic treatment. A little at a time. Gradual.

Filled up the hall with a lot of people Chief (over 2200+)...temporarily used our current system made up of 6 dual 15" speakers ( 2 on the left and right side walls and 1 each on the front L and front R of the stage), 2 W-Box Subs, Single 15 inchers for outside mix and 2 as stage monitors.
As expected, the ceiling helped. But we know that the hall is far from ideal.
I just played with the gain settings for each amp starting with the fronts at the highest level 3 o'clock, then the mid section around 12 o'clock and the closest speaker to the main mixer at the back, 10 o'clock.

Reverberation is still high but we were surprised to hear intelligible speech...will most likely start installation of rockwool panels within the next 2 weeks.
