So here's my update to start:
I've been so busy these last few years since my move that I could even barely find time to watch movies during weekends on an iMac using a set of Logitech THX computer speakers (so they claim- sounds great for the price by the way) and sub from a local shop called Officeworks. Haha Needless to say, I've been craving for the set-up that I used to have back there in our motherland. It took this long but I'm sure you will all agree when I say that if it is in your blood, it just won't go away. I knew it was just a matter of time.
Since movies are my main priority, the alvinh room "start-up" will just have to get used to not having the jbl's that my ears are somewhat familiar with and enjoyed.
At least now I can get back to watching flicks again with a bit more thump using this Klipsch package paired with a more modern Denon amp.
I suppose that my next craving will be to get the Atmos pair to go with the Klipsch set- save muna for now.
A bookshelf pair is also on the horizon. Still undecided and will take my time - what amp? CD player or turntable?
I find Australia has a lot of vintage secondhands so I might take this route for audio. Will see.
I was a bit impulsive in making a $35 purchase for a pair of speaker stands I saw on a local FB ad- it was cheap so I took it.
I'm not even sure now if I'll use it.

I look forward to recreating the acoustic screen set-up so that will also be on my to do list.
The lack of a sidekick will make it difficult but I've met a few Pinoy carpenters here so it will be a reality at some stage. Hehe
And the journey continues...
