Hey, that's right! Good memory, man: http://pinoydvd.com/board/index.php?topic=26115.0

Reading through the thread, there was a 2-disc R3, but it seems that's a lot more rare than the R1.

Ayun!  ;D

But my "should we include snappers" rant still stands...  ;D

i was following the thinking in the original post kasi that said, r3 titles bought locally but no longer available, and i thought the ones i had counted, and it just so happens they were snap cases too so i though i should bring that up.  oiii ba ule? ;D

Ok, new rule!

In the interest of fairness and as far as Warner releases are concerned, the snapper case will not be a factor based on the massive amount of this produced locally over the years. It's not as uncommon as a digipak or other special type of packaging, so... You may mention it if you like.

well in that case the DVD's rareness should really depend on the title and not the case in which it came in, so I guess my Power of One R3 still counts as a challenge...

Yeah, like with Mr. Hankey's snapper case copy of Clash of the Titans, I also have this but in a regular amaray case. The discs themselves are no different.

so no more snappers? ok

As long as it's a title that's rare, it's alright. You can mention if it's a snapper or not but only if it's relevant (e.g. different supplemental materials, encoding, etc.)

There's also the one about the CJ7 with plastic slipcase. That counts as rare even if the disc inside is the same.

You can also specify if the disc is DVD5, 9, or otherwise. There was a mention of UPC codes but that may only apply to special cases such as the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon initial release. But only if the UPC code is relevant to a difference in the content and package design of the entire item release.

As always, anyone can challenge anyone on their posts on any factor.

Yup, got this, too. And it's one of the rare cases where the R3 version is CENSORED!

Anyone have the R3 Warner snappers of Silk Stockings, Skin Deep, Blake Edwards' S.O.B., and Victor/Victoria (movie)? I don't see these titles in stores anymore.

Into the Arms of Strangers

Anyone have the R3 Warner snappers of Victor/Victoria (movie)? I don't see these titles in stores anymore.

Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho SE (1960)

The Stanley Kubrick Collection:

JFK
The Shawshank Redemption
The Empire of the Sun
Amadeus
Blazing Saddles
Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory
The Blade Runner
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
Casablanca
Time After Time

got these!!!

The 1st Casablanca snapper and Little Women were available at the Warner sale for P125.

My JFK is a snapper 2-disc.  This packaging is weird since the 2nd disc is kept in a sleeve on the inside front cover of the snapper.

My Stanley Kubrick Collection is the boxed set that includes some other movies (forget which ones, Full Metal Jacket? Dr. Strangelove? and a documentary).

Anybody got My Fellow Americans ?

Have that as well. I still see this release on the store shelves from time to time, though, so I don't think it's rare.

Umm...the R3 (of Once Upon a Time in America) is censored? Care to elaborate? Thanks :)

Sure, back in 2005, barrister first noted:

ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA:

I've seen a 2-disc P-DVD (China) version, presumably copied from R1.  The Philippine R3 is a censored version.
Congratulations, Warner Philippines. You now have the dubious distinction of being the distributor that released the first and only censored DVD in the Philippine market.

At the R3 hearse scene (chap. 28 at 97 mins.):

1.  There's a delibrate frame error - the picture is framed higher to hide the woman's pubic region.
2.  The woman's boobs were censored with a Gaussian Blur filter.

firewired then made an inquiry to Warner:

Okay, according to Warner, DVD censorship is never done for the benefit of the Philippines since we're quite liberal locally compared to our neighbors. Case in point is Eyes Wide Shut where we got the uncut version which showed T&A. In comparison, Region 1 was digitally manipulated cover the nudity.

With Once Upon A Time in America, all the major territories (including Singapore and Korea) may have objected to the total nudity of the corpse which showed the pubic area in a medium shot. In any case, if only 1 master was produced, then it's likely that all Asian versions  were censored. They're still waiting for a more concrete assessment from their Singaporean headquarters.

Yeah, I have JFK snapper 2-disc.  2nd disc is on a sleeve.

I saw a brand new My Fellow Americans R3 being sold on ebay.com.ph.  I guess for P199 only.  I hesitated to buy because of bad DVD reviews -- POOR PQ and SQ!  vcd quality even for the legit release.  Good movie.  Bad DVD...

Star Wars Episode II 2-Disc

Fantastic Four Extended Edition
A Knight's Tale Special Edition

These, I have.

The Saving Private Ryan commemorative DVD is included in my World War II set. The case is labeled "Region 2" but the discs themselves are labeled R3.

A Knight's Tale Special Edition I saw a couple of copies of at the Astro MOA and Odyssey Greenbelt sales.

And the Kung Fu Hustle 2-disc DVDs at the sale are different from what I have, if I recall. Is the Cantonese DTS track listed in the specs on the back cover? I'll make a scan and post the pic later.

By the way, my copy of Star Wars Episode II (2-Disc) is up for sale  ;D to anyone that's interested, of course  ;)
