Topic: AVR (voltage reg) repair and "upgrade" in QC?

can anyone recommend a reliable shop? i need to have my AVR repaired, my Stavol AVR has a loose 110v output socket that doesn't output power anymore and a power cable plug that's really falling apart. want to replace this with a thicker power cable, and the socket to a three-prong plug (+ground). can I just get the 8ga power cables that A/V shops sell by the meter? some shops told me it's for home audio but all i see is a single run of 8ga cable, which to me looks like a power cable for car audio. or is it possible to get 3 of these and connect them to the  +,-, and ground of the plugs?

          do you repair ups? my ups is tripping down from on line to battery and vice versa afterward power off. what cause this?
