wow, the canadians really up the ante by setting the player up against bluray unlike in the american launch where there was no bluray comparison. looks like its a good player up to 42", which is the more or less the majority of lcd/plasma owners here in pdvd. hope it can be region unlocked easily.

Luma na yung argument that Full HD is best enjoyed on a screen 50" and above. Smaller screen are compressed enough that its harder to tell the difference between upconverted SD and HD. Kaya mga 1080P screens that are smaller than 50" have little advantage over 720P screens. Unless you do sit closer than 5 feet from the screen

Ya it can be made region free daw (they have a procedure in avs forum)..The more and more Im regretting I bought my oppo 980 just 1 WEEK APART from this players release!!! Bad trip man hehe..But I love my oppo naman

..Christmas purchase nalang maybe?

According to the 3rd reviewer, you can unlock its region via remote control, nice

Heres how...

Region free via remote control:

- open the tray
- type 2403960
- press 9
- close the tray
- turn the player off and back on again
