HELP: Discoloration on Panasonic Viera 32LX80
« on: Nov 13, 2008 at 11:22 AM »
Hi. I just purchased my Pana Viera last month and I just noticed now that there is a slight discoloration on the lower right corner of the screen. This discoloration is obvious during dark scenes because it shows a light white tint. I thought that this was a factory defect so I had it replaced at S&S. When I was in S&S they tested it but the discoloration was gone (wierd). Vic was so kind to replace the unit anyway. I tested the new unit there first and it was fine. When I got home, I tested it again and the TV was fine. The following day, the discoloration is back (on the newly replaced unit). I really need help guys. Here are some additional info:

Devices near the TV:
PS3 (0.5ft below)
PS2 (0.5ft below)
main speakers (1ft from the sides)
A/V receiver (1.5tf lower left)
center speaker (1 ft. below)
voltage regulator. (2 ft. below)
subwoofer (2.5ft. lower left)

I palced ALL of these devices away from the TV (at least 2ft away from the edge of the TV) and the discoloration was still there.

I thought LCD TVs are immune to magnetic interference. I need help guys. :(

we almost have the same setup dude but no problem on mine? have you checked your lighting condition as well, first thing i realized was it might be the reflection of the PS3's chrome lining but since you moved the PS3 away then its not...try moving the tv on a different place/position and check if its still there

also disconnect the devices instead of just moving them
