Universal Home Video has announced 1-disc ($29.98), 3-disc ($34.98) and Blu-ray ($39.98) editions of Hellboy II: The Golden Army which stars Ron Perlman. The full details have yet to be confirmed I'm afraid (including the street date) but we can tell you that the 3-disc edition will include a digital copy of the film and around 3 hours of bonus content. The 2-disc Blu-ray edition will also include the digital copy, along with a feature that enables you to build your own comic book. Stay tuned for further details as we get them.

A collector's set containing the 3-disc release will also be available for $59.98. This will include a Limited Golden Army Statue, and an excerpt from the journal of Guillermo Del Toro. The artwork is attached:

I'm interested with the Blu Giftset, but I hope they also release a Blu edition of the first movie giftset just to be consistent $:-\$

There's going to be an R2 steelbook containing both Hellboy 1 and 2.. it's going to be a 4-disc set scheduled for release on December 8.. no artwork yet..

Sony did the 1st and the 2nd was Universal.. I guess, even with a 2nd sequel, the possibility of a box set is not good.. even Del Toro said so in an interview..

The R1 giftset looks good. Hopefully our R3 is the same. Keeping my fingers crossed that the R3 will have a sturdy box unlike that of R3 Crystal Skull giftset.

I only have the LOTR Giftsets to compare it with, and I can say that it's quite the same with them. Except that I got HB Giftset with a dent-free box because it was packaged nicely
