Just want to share this, it never fails to put a smile on my face every time I think of it.
There's this member here (I won't mention his/her name anymore) who has repeatedly asked me if just changing one (1) tube on a push-pull is ok... electrically, it is. But sonically, they should, at the very least, be replaced in pairs.
Ideally in a push-pull, the 4 tubes age at the same time, more or less, so it is prudent that you change ALL if possible (tube availability and funds come into play here).
This member was soooo "makulit", paulit-ulit lang ang tanong, parang hindi nadidinig yun explanation ko kung bakit sana, kung maari, sabay-sabay ang palit ng tubo or at the very least, in pairs. Para ba na ang gusto lang niya madinig yun sagot na gusto niya...
I think it's safe to say I have a huge amount of patience, however, I ended the conversation by saying this...
"Kung gusto mo magtubo, handa mo sarili mo bumili ng tubo. Nakabili ka ng tube amp tapos titipirin mo pag kailangan mo na magpalit ng tubo? Para ka bumili ng kotse, handa mo sarili mo magpa-gas pag may time, at hindi pwede kerosene ang ikakarga mo... otherwise, benta mo na lang yan at mamasahe ka na lang."
