sirs, how is the firmware upgraded? do you bring your unit to their shop or you can diy?

Nope! You just go to the link I provided on the previous post and download the upgrade on your computer. Once you have it saved on your PC, you will have to extract the file and burn it on a CD. Insert the CD into the DVD player and it will run on it's own. That's it! ;)

Just picked one up - however, it seems to be extra "hot" compared to my other player (a pioneer 410) last time I used it - and just watched two movies straight. Is this normal?

Before you go about to update the software which is cumbersome, go check the audio source first to determine if HDMI can be supported at the audio source. From the DVD setup (available through your remote control), choose audio setup. Look at the HDMI setup and see if it's turned on. This function can only be supported if your audio source (eg., amplifier) is HDMI enabled. If not HDMI enabled, you will have to turn off the HDMI setting for your DVD, then go to "digital audio setup" and set it to "all". After this is done, your DVD now should be able to produce sound in DTS mode.

Hi Newbie here. I just want to ask how would I know the firmware version on my DVP3982/F7B player. Does any one here have the same model? Any feedback?
