That is a mark of an avid dvd collector.  Most serious collector's just want to buy a certain movie/title because of the packaging.  They just display it and are happy just looking at it.  hehehe.  Yung iba they buy 2 or more copies of the same item (eg. 2 copies of the jurassic park trilogy steelbook) one for display (sealed) and one for viewing purposes (unsealed).  So yeah.. call it "nasisiraan ng bait" but that's really just part of the dvd collecting habit. :D
^^ Congrats again on the Pulp Fiction Steelbook!   ;D

Thanks Coffetiger...

my problem now is how to get the stellbooks of part 1-3 ;D

well, if you can't find it in the marketplace and there's no one in the states to get it for you... there is always ebay.   hehehe.  ;)

Btw, congrats on your Die Hard 4 steel!  ;D

Thanks Coffetiger...

Thanks for the info!

Yes, most are expensive, especially the ones that are already OOP.  But they are really nice and definitely worth collecting!  :)

Kingkong Blu Argentina Out of stock na pre-released April 16th wala pa talagang nakakita ano artwork nya...

French BD steelbook sad to say mostly its Region Locked to B... but advantage for me :D its just the prob it's a wee bit expensive. :( Tipid muna recession started biting me already... Life here its getting worse to migrant workers like me.  :'(

Ito another unusual BD from Argentina (Horizontal). Hope this one comes with a steelbook cased.

Ordered DVD KillBill 1 & 2 and Slevin as steelbook turns out a metalpak from Netherlands, anyway no prob since I like the artwork inside and outside glossy artwork. The difference between steelbook and metalpak mostly in the spine.

Thank you so much brod!   ;)

Yep, I don't plan to open it as I already have 300 in regular keepcase, unsealed.  If I want to watch the movie, will use that one na lang. hehehehe.

I know you will be able to acquire this too in the very near future. I think it is the only one among the MM exclusives that has an embossed title?  8)

Out of stock na kaagad yung KK Argentina steel???  Ang bilis naman!   :(  Sigurado jacked-up na naman ang price nyan sa evilbay when it does get released.  >:(  I hope another country would release a BD steelbook of KK.

Gone with the Wind and Wizard of Oz horizontals look interesting.  But I've no plans yet of getting them on BD.  Quite happy with my SE DVDs.   ;D  Also, I've seen quite a number of DVD horizontal steels but none yet of a BD horizontal steel.   Meron po ba?

I think the Netherlands version is different from the French one.  I  saw the TF1 Kill Bill BD steel (France) at ebay and it was definitely a steelbook...  But i don't know.. is the netherlands metalpak region-free? or region-locked to B din?

oh yeah... i forgot about that fight club steel... it didn't register as a BD because of the absence of the blue bar.  But it is quite unique!  and still available at amazon.de for 27 Euros.  hehehehe...  :D

Oo nga.. pinakyaw yung Clone Wars steel BD so it went OOP kaagad and then trying to sell it a ridiculous price of $150-$200 (P5000-P9000).  I'm not addicted enough nor filthy rich enough to buy at that ridiculous a price. But i did regret not getting it from Mediadis when it was still selling at around 25 Euros I think (if i remember correctly).  The next time I came back to Mediadis, it was already sold out.  :'(

no probs with the spine it looks alright and more durable than the steelbooks but the bottom line is everybody prefers steelbooks including me... Ordered this one advertised as steelbook but turns out a metalpak just to avoid the hassle of returning I rather keep it and one thing I like the artwork inside.

I am not sure about the disc hub... it looks pretty similar to the other disc hubs I've seen.  :-\

I too prefer SteelBooks over MetalPaks based solely on design.  I would only get a MetalPak if a certain title I want was released without a SteelBook counterpart and the only other choice is an Amaray.

But what's really annoying is when sellers advertise an item as SteelBook when it is in fact a MetalPak or even tin.  Sellers should know exactly what they are selling, unless of course they actually plan to mislead their buyers.  >:(  It actually pays to visit DVD forums first and read about the item before buying it online.  Now I know the Netherlands Kill Bill is a MetalPak and NOT a SteelBook.  Thanks to your post sir The_Woodlands.   :)

Good thing I read this too.  Was planning to get that kill bill steels.  Turns out, metal pack pala.  Konti pa lang steels ko.  I only started collecting steels this year.  Because of pinoydvd, that I learned of this packaging.  If I only knew then, sana puro steels na lang kinuha ko.  Right now, I only have 14 titles in steelbook packaging.  Will post pic soon.  Patulong na din mga steel gurus, kung me makukuhanan kayo batman begins and the dark knight steels na mababa, pakuha ako.  I'm a big batman fan kasi. ;)

Sayang, I sold my dark knight steel back in January.  Anyway, will inform you if I do find a copy at a fair price.  Also, it wouldn't hurt to post at the marketplace's 'Looking For' thread.  A fellow member might want to dispose of their Batman Begins steel and TDK steel at a bargain price. :)

You might also want to try ebay as RNIverson suggested.  I do get almost 90% of my steels there.  8)

Mag-ingat din sa onlines store at ebay, especially if you want the Batman Begins Region 2, a lot of complains it's rereleased as Metalpak but advertise as steelbook.
