I've seen it earlier. Yeah. It's worth 750. I'm surprised that the packaging is very different from the R1 Version then again, the R1 case is prone to scratches.

The Astro people offered to give me a mahogany plant which they said is free with the purchase. Totoo nga! I couldn't take it home because I didn't have a car to put it in and I would have looked stupid carrying it out of the store and around the mall  :o

So, I just opted to give it to the staff  ;D

And may I say, for a gesture on saving the planet, this release sure does use a lot of paper -- unnecessarily, if I may add  ::)

I got this from Astro RP Ermita. Sa nakita ko kinuha ng saleslady sa stockroom nila. I don't know! Kanina ko lang binili and sinabi kaagad sa akin na may mahogany plant free with the DVD. :D

Naawa nga ako because the plant looks like it's about to die already  :'(

:o For the love of God, people! Save these plants from the stockroom! Get the Wall-e DVD and free the plants!!!! Free the Plants!!! Attica!!! Attica!!!  :o

When I got the DVD, wala pa iyung mga plants.  I thought they will give seeds not plants.  Silly idea sa plants.  They should have offered to plant the number of trees (equal to the number of DVD sold) in a conservation park or open space, not give plants away, where, I guess -  given most of us are not green thumbs will just go to the big pie in the sky...  that would be the reverse of its intended idea...

I think Mahogany trees don't have seeds. When it was first reported that it's gonna be seedlings, I immediately assumed that Astro would store the seedlings inside their storeroom, which looks weird since those seedlings will surely wilt if they do not get any sunlight.

Target had the same thing in the US.. but instead of the seedling itself, they would give you a code.. you put a code in the website then the seedling is delivered to your place..

The good thing here is we're saving costs because wala nang digital copy!

I agree doon sa suggestion na by purchasing one DVD= 1 seedling to be planted on a open space or field.

WALL-E really sure made an impact to what could happen in the future.

Possibly the silliest promo ever  :D

Can anybody post a pic of the plant?

I won't be buying this soon, Paying php750 for a DVD is already ridiculous for me.  I'll wait for it to go down to php299

That's the DVD, the plant, and the nice little Wall-E gift bag the DVD comes in.

^ Like I said, that's a hell of a lot of paper (and plastic) for just one DVD release to be considered environmentally friendly.

So much for minimizing the carbon footprint :P

The whole point of the R1 packaging is to make everything environmentally-friendly save for the discs, LOL. As for scratches, only Discs 2 & 3 are at risk, and I don't really plan to keep using them anyway.

I was tempted to get the R3 release, but the "Copyright VIVA VIDEO" print at the back was a turnoff; I'll wait for my R1 copy instead.  ;D

actually, all discs are at risk from scratches with the R1 packaging.. and even if you don't see a scratch, there's still a chance your discs are flawed.. I got 2 copies (R1) both scratch-free but they hang in all the players I've used.. I guess I'll buy the R3 na lang din..

EDIT: Hmmm, playing well so far on an old Pioneer player.. may not have to buy the R3 after all..

Sana walang sira yung kopya ko.... hahay! or else... I might buy the R3 na din. Pero gusto ko yung WALL-E bag!!!

I'm visiting Video stores lately and I've observed that some Pixar films on DVDs such as Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc. and The Incredibles are also released on Single DVD. Just make sure you look for the two disc label if you're into special features before buying.

I hope WALL-E goes on sale this Christmas before I buy it.

OFFTOPIC : I got my R1 copy from emildjr and there are no problems with my copy. Good thing I've told him to test my copy before giving it to me. To be honest, you can transfer the digital copy of the film on your PC! You can easily fool those terms and conditions. But you should have the activiation code with you or else, that copy is useless. Although the process will take a little longer than those USA people. After the process is complete, it will give you a PC copy and a mobile copy of the movie.

ONTOPIC: Has anyone found the easter eggs lately? I wanna access it through DVD Player and if it fails, I'll use my PC to see those easter eggs.

There are two easter eggs right on the main menu of Disc 1 of the R3 DVD.  You can access the first easter egg by highlighting the BNL logo on the upper lefthand corner of the menu, while the second one can be accessed by highlighting the circle at the top/middle of the screen.

On Disc 2, there's one easter egg on the Humans / Behind the Scenes menu.  Just click on the red dot that appears at the horizontal bar at the bottom.  Not sure if there are other easter eggs here.

As for the easter eggs on Disc One, Here are the guidelines for you to access them via DVD Player. I've discovered them myself.

How to access the BNL Easter Egg
On the main menu, press down until you reach the "Bonus Feature", from there, click left and then up. It will point you to the BNL Logo.

How to access the circle with letter W Easter Egg
On the main menu, press down until you reach "Set Up" from there, press right and then up. It will point you to a circle with the letter W.

As for the Easter Egg on Disc 2, I haven't seen it yet.

To add, I really love the twist after the end credits.
WALL-E is brought to you by BNL!
