1st-connect via the on board VGA, not with the 8400GS
start the PC, go to bios, it should detect the 8400gs and be ready for auto Hybrid SLI.

....if not, turn off.....take out the bios battery, wait a few seconds, then put it back on and turn on the PC

this will prompt you to the f1 f2 page.

set the bios time, date etc.....then check out the Hybrid SLI.

if this will no t do the trick, you'll have to reset the CMOS.

Look for the CMOS on the MoBo, remove the battery, place the jumper on the reset pins(it's in the manual), wait for 9 seconds, then placed back the jumper pins on the original position, then put  back the battery, then turn on the PC.....this should do the trick.

sir alfie, already done your first tip... no success... about removing bios battery and resetting cmos, di ko pa nagawa ito... pag tinanggal yung bat or reset ng cmos, ano sir ang mangyayari sa bios data? madedefault or mawawala lahat ng info? di pa ako nakapagtry mag reset kasi ng bios kahit dati, may potential risk ba sa ganito?.. thanks sir sa mga tips...

none all data will be erased and set back to default, thus, you'll have to set the time and date....BTW it's military time, so, it should be 1 till 24(24 is 12MN).
Since it's a X3200 Acer, only thing you'll need to set is the time, all others are still within factory settings.

......BTW when removing the battery, make sure you've unplug your unit.

RAM kaya problema or yung game?

My Vista OS updated last Saturday, after-which I noticed that the Hybrid SLI was not recognized anymore, and my chip set became 9200gs, which was causing very unstable graphic resolutions, thus I went to the bios and discovered that I'm in the same situation that the Hybrid SLI was disabled and there's no way to enable it, so what I did was incorporate a  dvi cable into my 8400gs and maintain the HDMI so that when I get to the bios to modify as a safety precaution, thus to my surprised the Hybrid SLI was now enabled, thus the Hybrid sli is now working again.

This is for info to those interested and have not found a way to circumvent the problem before.

p.s.
erwin111....sorry for the late reply, I know it took more than a year but since it was not happening to me, I wouldn't try to experiment on my unit.....BTW further readings indicated that the latest Vista update and from the NVIDIA site, the updates were meant to conserve energy, thus seemingly, if you don't use it, you lose it.

Doc Alfie, musta na? How are things?

I bought a second pre-owned X3200 and was trying to get it set-up for the same AMD 4way CPU but didn't work this time. Not sure whether it has to do with the default OS or other factors but doing a visual check the board lay-out and other stuff is directly similar to the first X3200 that I have and still running on a 7x24 basis which I successfully loaded the upgrade CPU before without problems.

So far it's been reliable... and was wondering if you or anyone in this thread had a chance to incorporate an additional internal fan so that the HD ambient heat gets dissipitated a little bit...

The LAN port is the one that I reporteded years back to run hot and disappear, thus wht I did was buy the usb LAN from CDR-King just in case it disappears permanently.(I presume you've tried going into manage and checking into youor LAN's driver).
The CDR-King USB lan works well and can withstand continious downloads, I also bought the cheap realtek wireless, and it also works seemlessly, however it gets hot in such a short time. BTW when uploading the driver, turn off the user permit and do it manually, look for the Vista driver, otherwise, installation will fail.  ;) ;D

sir alfie, better late than never  :D..
btw, still using the my x3200 solely as htpc.. display is still connected directly to the 8400gs.. never tried again to enable the hybrid sli.. but with your recent finding, i would try again.. anyway, what is your current nvidia driver version?  is it with the 3d vision?  if i remember right, later versions of nvidia drivers have disabled the hybrid sli.. i'm currently using with 3d vision drivers, this version might have already disabled the hybrid sli... but downgrading the drivers for hybrid sli, i might not be able to use the 3d vision function, is this correct?

let's say, ok yung drivers ko for hybrid sli, is there any connected display in the dvi connection of the 8400gs when you were successfully enabled again the hybrid sli? hdmi connection in the 8200 on board? then all of a sudden hybrid sli enabling is possible in bios? thanks..

Yes you are probably right, you see, I lose the Hybrid sli, when I upgraded my NVIDIA driver afterwhich, when I tried to downgrade, it wouldn't let me telling me that the driver is obsolete thus, I uninstalled/removed the driver, then installed the old driver, in which initially did nothing and I was about to give up until I decided to just use the 8500gs and it was during this time that the hybrid sli re-aapeared.

Quote

No, the thing that happened was that I connected the VGA of my 8500gs to my LCD, and when no graphics displayed, I reconnected the HDMI to my  on board 8200 video, thus the display, and the icon for the Hybrid SLI reappeared.

BTW if the 3D driver is OK with you, maybe you better stay with it, the reason mine did not work was becasue I was still connected to the onboard HDMI, so I just tried to look for a workaround because I thought that my 8200gs cannot bear with the new driver, and beside I miss seeing the hybrid icon.  ;)

Anyway, as the americans often quote, if it ain't broken, don't fix....mine just got broken, thus I went for a fix.....your's might be better than what I have right now. :)

installed a GT 520 GEFORCE (Palid) card now and works well... not bad for a more than 4+ years machine... now if I could only find a way to make this accept 8gb system memory, that would be best...

any chance anyone knows where to get locally, a 6pin power cable splitter similar to below?
