sir alfie, better late than never ..
btw, still using the my x3200 solely as htpc.. display is still connected directly to the 8400gs.. never tried again to enable the hybrid sli.. but with your recent finding, i would try again.. anyway, what is your current nvidia driver version? is it with the 3d vision? if i remember right, later versions of nvidia drivers have disabled the hybrid sli.. i'm currently using with 3d vision drivers, this version might have already disabled the hybrid sli... but downgrading the drivers for hybrid sli, i might not be able to use the 3d vision function, is this correct?..
Yes you are probably right, you see, I lose the Hybrid sli, when I upgraded my NVIDIA driver afterwhich, when I tried to downgrade, it wouldn't let me telling me that the driver is obsolete thus, I uninstalled/removed the driver, then installed the old driver, in which initially did nothing and I was about to give up until I decided to just use the 8500gs and it was during this time that the hybrid sli re-aapeared.
let's say, ok yung drivers ko for hybrid sli, is there any connected display in the dvi connection of the 8400gs when you were successfully enabled again the hybrid sli? hdmi connection in the 8200 on board? then all of a sudden hybrid sli enabling is possible in bios? thanks..
No, the thing that happened was that I connected the VGA of my 8500gs to my LCD, and when no graphics displayed, I reconnected the HDMI to my on board 8200 video, thus the display, and the icon for the Hybrid SLI reappeared.
BTW if the 3D driver is OK with you, maybe you better stay with it, the reason mine did not work was becasue I was still connected to the onboard HDMI, so I just tried to look for a workaround because I thought that my 8200gs cannot bear with the new driver, and beside I miss seeing the hybrid icon.
Anyway, as the americans often quote, if it ain't broken, don't fix....mine just got broken, thus I went for a fix.....your's might be better than what I have right now.
