I dont use the VGA cable anymore to connect my pc to the tv. Currently i use HDMI2 port, i edited the name of HDMI2 to PC then like magic...the desktop image realy looks sharp without any shadowing effect whatsoever.

Sir, what resolution are you using thru HDMI? What's the maximum resolution allowed? Thanks :)
SARS!!!

@Sir Vic/Sights and Sounds, do you have a policy on dead pixels? At first I had only 1 bright pixel and I didn't mind much. But for the last couple of days a few more stuck red pixels appeared. Bought the samsung unit Nov 15 of this year.

As far as I know the A550 is already full HD while the Panny LX80 is only HD ready... haven't seen a 37" A550 locally though... alam k0 32" then jumps to 40" yata

Ganun ba? Mukhang di na kaya ng budget ang 40" na A550 :(
hhhmmmm.... esep-esep.... :)

Sir, what resolution are you using thru HDMI? What's the maximum resolution allowed? Thanks :)

I use the native resolution 1920x1080 for my PC thru HDMI2. The Monitor will only display images when the resolution you use is supported by the TV. The manual of the TV states the resolutions that it supports. Like for example is you choose the native reso of 22" (1680x1050) which isn't supported by the TV bcoz its a 16:10 aspect ratio, the TV wont display anything, just a warning message that output not supported. So you have to go back and run at safe mode to reset the resolution.

i saw a toshiba 32cv500 and samsung 32a550 side-by-side at a shop playing the same HD source. i stayed for 30 minutes watching both and i preferred the picture quality of toshiba. although it is not full-hd, i find the colors more natural, vibrant and pleasing than samsung.

out of the box settings kasi yun, calibration settings lang yan maganda pa rin a550.

Tama pare maganda pa din a550 pag na calibrate na. They always say you cant notice the diff bet full hd and hd ready panels but with the 32a550 you realy can, particularly on ps3 gaming, lalo na on pc mode.

Well tried the following: 1) used the pixel exerciser and 2) pixel massage. Left the pixel exerciser on for an hour but didn't work. Massaged the stuck pixels and some of them actually went away. However there are a couple that I can't get rid of.  :(

got my 32a550 a week ago. so far ok naman siya. hehe.

tested PIP, it was ok. notice ko lang from watching the TV from the sides that colors are not as sharp as front-side viewing. medyo washed out or lighter. im thinking its normal thing compared to plasma which should project proper colors no matter what angle you are looking from?

guys, please correct me if im wrong.  ;)

What are the main differences between the A550 and A650? Is the A650 worth the extra money?

If you are going for 40" up, go for the 6 series since it has 120Hz motion. But for the 32", go for the 5 series - it has the 3 entertainment modes (game, cinema, sports) and the only advantage of 6 series is +15K dynamic contrast. Also a warning for 6 series, the panel is very reflective (as seen as well in CNET reviews). If your room is bright and has a lot of windows, stay away from this series - even the 5 series is quite reflective already because of its mirror black frame.

Hope this helps. Asked the same question weeks before.
