Decent CD player for 7k php?
« on: Aug 30, 2008 at 11:15 PM »
Any suggestion for a decent CD player for 7k?  No speakers and int amp yet.  Yoko ng bright or warm.  Gusto ko neutral.

Would you consider preowned?

If you do, I suggest getting those pier/surplus cdps for 3-4k and have the innards upgraded. There are various DIY electronic guys here who can easily do the job correctly ;)

ack!  sabi na eh... unfortunately, wala akong tyaga mag puntang pier..

pero mukhang ganun na nga, kasi i have a limited budget.  Thanks for the advice sir.  Who can mod CDPs?

or is purchasing a DVD player instead, like the pioneer 600AV-S or 610Av-S better than the pier CDPs?

Nahh, get a dedicated cdp instead - they're almost always better than dvdp ;D But then, there's the Oppo 980 dvdp that I believe can rival some dedicated cdps. Unfortunately, above your budget.

Stick with the pier/surplus dedicated cdp & ask Ferds or jojod if they can share their knowledge in upgrading it more for you. Good luck sir! ;)
